The Avengers Tower was unusually quiet that evening, with most of the team either out on missions or winding down for the night.

Tony Stark sat in the lounge, idly sipping his coffee while reviewing some schematics. His peace was interrupted by the sudden arrival of Harley and Peter, both looking slightly frazzled.

“Finally,” Tony said, barely looking up. “What took you so long? I sent the call fifteen minutes ago.”

Harley and Peter exchanged sheepish glances, a silent conversation passing between them.

“Well,” Harley started, scratching the back of his head.

“Uh, yeah,” Peter added, rubbing his neck nervously. “We were, uh, in the elevator.”

Tony raised an eyebrow, intrigued now. “And?”

“We thought we were stuck,” Peter blurted out. Harley shot him a sideways glance, but Peter continued. “We were in there for fifteen minutes, just… panicking.”

Tony put down his coffee, now fully invested in the story. “You thought you were stuck in the elevator? For fifteen minutes?”

Harley sighed. “Yeah, and then, uh, we realized something…”

Peter bit his lip, trying not to laugh now that he realized how ridiculous it sounded. “Neither of us had pushed the button.”

Tony blinked, his expression shifting between disbelief and amusement. He slowly leaned back in his chair, folding his arms.

“Let me get this straight. You two were sitting in a perfectly functional elevator, thinking you were trapped, and it never occurred to either of you to push the button?”

Harley shrugged, trying to look unfazed. “We were busy panicking.”

Tony shook his head, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You panicked in a Stark elevator. The one with an AI. That talks.”

“Okay, okay, we get it,” Peter said, finally laughing. “In hindsight, it was a bit... silly.”

“A bit?” Tony repeated, raising an eyebrow. “Kid, this might be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard, and I’ve heard Clint try to explain the concept of stealth.”

Harley snorted. “Not our finest moment, I admit.”

“Clearly,” Tony smirked. “Friday, make sure Harley and Peter get ‘Push the Button 101’ scheduled in their training.”

“Already done, boss,” Friday’s voice chimed in.

“Great,” Tony said, standing up and patting both boys on the shoulders. “Now, how about you get to the lab? There’s a reason I called you two.”

“Right,” Harley nodded, still slightly embarrassed. “We’re on it.”

As they headed down the hall, Tony called after them. “And hey, next time, don’t forget—push the button!”

The sound of Tony’s laughter followed them down the corridor as Peter and Harley exchanged another embarrassed glance, both determined never to mention their elevator mishap again—at least not where Tony could hear.
