The club was packed, music thumping through the floor and buzzing in Yeonjun's chest as he scanned the crowded room.
Normally, he'd be right there in the middle of it, dancing and letting loose. But tonight, his focus was somewhere else. Well, someone else.
Soobin, who was standing by the bar, smiling and laughing with friends, seemed almost oblivious to Yeonjun's eyes on him. He was talking to Hueningkai, but every so often, a girl would come up, laughing a little too hard at his jokes, leaning in just close enough that Yeonjun felt a spark of irritation.
It wasn't that Soobin was doing anything wrong; he was just... socializing. But for some reason, every glance, every touch on Soobin's arm from a stranger, made Yeonjun's jaw clench just a bit tighter.
He tore his gaze away for a second, pretending to be engrossed in a conversation with Taehyun. But out of the corner of his eye, he kept catching Soobin's interactions, and with every minute, that little knot of jealousy twisted tighter in his chest.
And the worst part? A few guys had also come over, laughing at Soobin's comments and giving him approving nods that made Yeonjun want to roll his eyes.
"Soobin's popular tonight," Beomgyu said, leaning in with a smirk, clearly noticing Yeonjun's expression. Yeonjun shot him a glare, but Beomgyu just laughed, clinking his drink with Taehyun's and whispering something that only made Taehyun shake his head, amused.
Yeonjun did his best to ignore it all, but that jealous frustration simmered under the surface, a reminder he couldn't shake.
He managed to make it through the rest of the night, though every time Soobin's laugh floated through the noise or someone leaned in a little too close, his grip on his drink tightened.
Finally, they all called it a night and headed back to the dorms. Yeonjun walked alongside Soobin, his gaze fixed forward but his mind racing.
The moment they reached their shared dorm room, the door clicked shut behind them, and Yeonjun couldn't hold back any longer.
He turned, stepped forward, and slammed his hand against the door, right by Soobin's head, trapping him in place. Soobin's eyes widened, his back pressed against the door, surprise flickering in his gaze as he looked up at Yeonjun.
"You had fun tonight, huh?" Yeonjun's voice was low, his usual lighthearted tone gone, replaced with something heavier, almost challenging.
Soobin blinked, clearly caught off guard. "Uh, yeah?" He laughed a little, but Yeonjun's intense stare didn't falter. "Why? Did I do something?"
Yeonjun's gaze dropped, sweeping over Soobin's face, taking in the way he seemed so effortlessly composed, as if nothing was bothering him. "You just seemed a little... friendly tonight," he said, his tone sharp but soft, every word heavy with an unspoken frustration.
Soobin's lips quirked up into a small smirk. "What, you jealous or something?" His voice was teasing, but there was something in his eyes, a glint that showed he knew exactly what he was doing.
Yeonjun's jaw tightened. His pride getting in the way of what he truly wanted to say, of what he wanted to tell the blue-haired boy.
The fuck should I say...
