Finals were finally over, and everyone was low-key relieved to have their lives back. The grind was brutal, but they made it through, and now they were just trying to chill.

With all that stress out of the way, the group was hanging out more. But something was definitely different—Soobin and Yeonjun were basically glued together.

It wasn't just about being roommates anymore.

They were always around each other, and the rest of the gang couldn't help but notice. Hueningkai, Taehyun, and Beomgyu would exchange looks every time they saw Soobin and Yeonjun off in their own little world, laughing over some inside joke that no one else got.

At lunch one day, they all grabbed their usual spot in the cafeteria. Soobin, Yeonjun, Hueningkai, Taehyun, and Beomgyu were talking about plans for the weekend when, out of nowhere, Yuna slid into the seat next to Yeonjun.

"Hey, babe," she cooed, leaning into him. She didn't even glance at the rest of the group, like they didn't exist.

Yeonjun's eyes lit up a little, and he gave her a genuine smile. "Hey," he replied, sounding happier than he had in days.

Soobin's mood took a nosedive the moment Yuna showed up, but he forced himself to stay quiet. Beomgyu, however, couldn't resist a snide comment.

"Oh, hi to you too, didn't know we're just inviting anybody to the table," Beomgyu said, sarcasm dripping from his words. He picked at his food, pretending to be uninterested, but everyone could tell he was annoyed.

Yuna shot Beomgyu a glare but didn't say anything. Instead, she focused on Yeonjun, running her hand up and down his arm, playing with his hair, basically doing everything short of climbing into his lap.

"Missed you babyy," Yuna murmured, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Yeonjun just nodded, not really into it, but not pulling away either. "Yeah... you too," he mumbled, trying to keep up the smile, even if it didn't quite reach his eyes anymore.

Hueningkai tried to keep the conversation going, clearly uncomfortable. "So, uh, anyone up for a movie night later?" he asked, glancing around the table, but his voice lacked its usual enthusiasm.

"I'm down," Taehyun replied, though he kept his eyes on his phone, avoiding the awkward tension that had settled over the table.

Soobin was trying his best to ignore the whole situation, but it was impossible. Seeing Yuna all over Yeonjun like that made his chest tighten with a mix of jealousy and frustration. He stabbed at his food, trying to keep his face neutral.

Yuna noticed Soobin's lack of enthusiasm and smirked. "You okay, Soobin-ah? You look a little... off," she said, her tone sickly sweet, like she was trying to provoke him.

Soobin looked up, meeting her gaze with a cold stare. "I'm fine," he replied, his voice sharper than he intended. "Just not a fan of public displays of desperation."

Yeonjun's brows furrowed slightly, and he glanced at Soobin. "Hey, come on, man. That's a bit harsh," he said, though his tone lacked real conviction. He felt like he had to say something, but even he knew it sounded half-hearted.

Yuna, not one to let things slide, immediately turned her attention back to Yeonjun, frowning. "Are you seriously going to let him talk to me like that?" she asked, her voice rising just enough to catch the attention of the tables around them.

Yeonjun shifted uncomfortably in his seat, trying to keep things cool. "Yuna, let's not make a scene," he said quietly, hoping to calm her down.

But Yuna wasn't having it. "Make a scene? I'm just asking why you're letting your friend disrespect me like that!" she snapped, her voice louder now, her eyes flashing with irritation.

The rest of the gang sat in uncomfortable silence, all eyes darting between Yuna and Yeonjun, feeling the tension rise.

Yeonjun sighed, rubbing his temples. "I just don't want to fight, okay? Can we just drop it?" he muttered, his tone more pleading than anything else.

Yuna stared at him in disbelief, her lips pressing into a thin line. "Unbelievable," she hissed, before pushing back her chair and standing up abruptly, her face flushed with anger. "Fine, if you're not going to stand up for me, then I'm out."

She stormed off, leaving an awkward silence hanging over the table.

Beomgyu let out a low whistle. "Damn, that was rough," he muttered, shaking his head, clearly entertained despite the awkwardness.

Yeonjun groaned, slumping in his seat. "This is a fucking mess," he mumbled to himself.

Soobin, who had been watching the whole thing unfold with a mix of disbelief and bitterness, couldn't help the sarcastic comment that slipped out. "Not gonna run after your girl?" he asked, his tone laced with irritation.

Yeonjun shot Soobin a look, torn between frustration and resignation. "What's your problem, Soobin?" he snapped, though his voice was clear he was more tired than angry.

Soobin just scoffed, looking away. "Nothing. Just thought you'd be more eager to go after her," he muttered, the bitterness in his voice barely concealed.

The tension was thick, the air heavy with unsaid words. Yeonjun hesitated for a moment, caught between staying and going after Yuna. But eventually, he stood up with a sigh. "I'll catch up with you guys later," he said, before heading off in the direction Yuna had stormed off in.

Once Yeonjun was out of earshot, Hueningkai let out a low groan, running a hand through his hair. "That was intense."

Taehyun just shook his head, glancing at Soobin. "You okay, man?"

Soobin shrugged, trying to play it off. "Yeah, whatever," he said, though the tightness in his chest told a different story.
