The loud music was the first thing Soobin noticed, along with the guy stumbling out of the building, trying to hold his dinner from spewing out of his throat.
Soobin's eyebrows scrunched in concern.
What am I getting myself into?
"Don't worry," Yeonjun reassured, gently grabbing Soobin's hand. "Let's just stick by each other tonight, okay? Make sure we don't do anything stupid."
Before Soobin could respond, Yeonjun was already pulling him inside the bar, where their friends were waiting.
"Jun-hyung! Bin-hyung!" Hueningkai's voice rang out, his long arms waving above the crowd.
As they approached their group, Soobin's eyes widened at the sight of Taehyun and Beomgyu practically glued to each other. Beomgyu was sitting on Taehyun's lap, their faces inches apart, exchanging soft kisses as if no one else existed.
"Finally, someone who isn't trying to swallow someone else's face!" Hueningkai whined, his voice barely audible over the music. "I came to party, but these horny fucks couldn't keep their hands off each other and ignored meeee!"
"You're just jealous cause you couldn't pull any bitches, Kai." Beomgyu snapped before getting pulled back by Taehyun for another make out session after muttering 'Ignore him'.
Yeonjun chuckled and patted Hueningkai on the back. "We're here now. Let's get some drinks, yeah? Soobin, you too!"
Soobin hesitated for a moment, watching Yeonjun order a round of shots. He wasn't a big fan of alcohol, not because he didn't enjoy it, but because of the inevitable hangover that followed.
But the way Yeonjun looked at him—expectant, playful—made it impossible to refuse. He found himself nodding along, even though he knew he'd probably regret it in the morning.
After a few rounds, the drinks were starting to hit Soobin. He wasn't drunk, but he definitely wasn't sober either.
His thoughts began to drift, and more often than not, they landed on Yeonjun.
How is he so effortlessly charming? Soobin wondered, watching as Yeonjun laughed, his head thrown back, pink hair catching the dim light in a way that made it seem almost ethereal.
"How's the party so far?" Yeonjun asked, leaning in close enough that Soobin could feel the warmth of his breath against his ear.
"It's... different," Soobin admitted, his heart thudding in his chest. "But not bad."
Yeonjun smiled, something soft and sincere in his expression. "Good. I want you to have fun, Soobinnie."
That nickname again. I like that, sounds really nice. Especially coming from his lips.
And before Soobin could process it, Yeonjun was pulling him onto the dance floor, their hands still intertwined.
The music throbbed around them, bodies pressed close, but all Soobin could focus on was Yeonjun—how beautiful he looked under the flashing lights, how free he seemed, how badly Soobin wanted to be close to him.
I'm so screwed, Soobin thought, unable to tear his eyes away from Yeonjun's smile.
Meanwhile, poor Hueningkai found himself alone once again, glancing between Taehyun and Beomgyu, who were still making out, and the other two boys, who had left him behind to dance.
Great. Just great. I came here to party, and now I'm the one left babysitting myself, he thought, his inner monologue dripping with sarcasm. What a night.
