Elektra's pov:
I was devastated as I knew I couldn't escape Bartholomew this time. No one knew my surroundings; no one could find me and save me. Ι was desperate, hopeless.
I couldn't sleep all night. I was filled with anxiety and despair. I had to find a way to get out of here. But how? I was locked in a room with silver chains. If I managed to unlock myself, I would have a chance to leave this place. I had to come up with a plan and soon because time was running against me.
Morning came with me trying really hard to resolve myself to no avail. Silver was harmful to all werewolves. Suddenly, I heard footsteps in the hallway, apparently someone was coming. I wondered where Andros' brother was. Ever since Bartholomew appeared, Andros' brother has vanished into thin air. What happened to him? Did Bartholomew kill him? Why was he so hostile towards me? I never hurt his brother. Probably Bartholomew filled him with a bunch of lies so he could use him.
The door opened and Bartholomew came inside holding a big tray with food. He put the tray on the table beside me and approached me.
-"Good morning sweetie" he said trying to caress my cheek while I turned my head to avoid his touch. This man disgusted me. My mind took me back to those days when I thought he was my father. How proud and happy I felt to have him. How naive I was to believe that this man before me was good and honest. All the red flags were up while I continued to believe in him.
-"Don't be like this to me, a few months ago you welcomed all my caresses with joy" he commented in annoyance.
-"Back then, I thought you were my father. I don't anymore" I explained sadly.
-"But I wasn't your father. I am your mate, though, can't you see?" he said incredulously.
-"You are not my mate" I yelled at him in frustration. He was being paranoid again.
-"Elektra, why do you keep hurting me? Why are you making it difficult for us?" he commented sadly. His eyes were filled with tears. Was he messing with me? This wasn't Bartholomew I used to know. But I couldn't trust him. I knew better, that his intensions never were sincere or benevolent.
-"Why are you doing this to me? " I asked him to no avail. He just walked away without a second glance leaving me here chained up trying to find a way to escape.
Alexander's pov:
Watching Andrew's brother all these days led us nowhere. Unfortunately, it turns out that the man was in town looking for his brother and had nothing to do with Bartholomew or his gang. Speaking of which, none of them was easy to be found either, further raising our suspicions that Bartholomew was gathering an army, for only Goddess knows what reason. I really hope he doesn't repeat the atrocities he did to my pack.
I was in my apartment trying to relax when the doorbell was heard. I got the door surprised to see Roxanne waiting outside. She was in a really bad state.
-"Roxanne, welcome. Please come in" I told her softly.
-"Thank you. Sorry to bother you but I can't sit alone at home and wait. The agony is killing me".
-"I understand. We are both in the same page. I'd rather be out, looking for her than waiting here doing nothing. But I know better that we must gain our strength so that when we find her we can help her. Please sit down. Would you like anything to drink?'
-"No, thank you, I am ok. Alexander we have to find Elektra. She is in great danger, I can feel it"
-"Roxanne we are looking for her everywhere to no avail. She is nowhere" I said in pure disappointment.
-"Look for Bartholomew's traces. If you find him you'll find our girl"
-"You think I haven't already? It's like he has vanished into thin air."
-"Oh my goddess, please protect her!" Roxanne said in tears.
-"Don't worry we will find her and bring her back. I promise."
-"I really hope so" she exclaimed in despair. We stayed there for a couple of minutes in silence. What else we could say? We felt so devastated, so helpless. Elektra was nowhere to be found. Bartholomew had her and we all hoped for her safety.
That's when my phone rang. It was John. He had news. Apparently, the Council got some information about Bartholomew's whereabouts and was on his trail. I left Roxanne at my apartment and headed for the mountains where Bartholomew was hiding.
I mind linked Steve and updated David on new clues we have. Steve suggested that we prepare a team of our most effective warriors, as we did not know Bartholomew's strength. Apparently, Bartholomew's hiding place was in an old building in the mountains, but we didn't know if he had men with him or he was alone. His hiding was in a remote location where there was dense vegetation and many caves around. We took a path following John and his men. My heart was beating like crazy. I couldn't believe that in a few hours I would see Elektra again. I would take her in my arms and never let her go again. My train of thoughts was disrupted by John who had come beside me.
-"So?" John wondered.
-"So what?" I asked.
-"Alex, can you hear me? Do you think Bartholomew managed to rally many men?"
-"I really don't know, but I am prepared for anything. I brought my best warriors with me"
-"I hope we avoid the battle"
-"With Bartholomew this will be inevitable my friend" I said disappointed and continued to climb. After an hour, the trail ended and we came to a clearing where a small cabin could be seen in the distance. We got closer and hid ourselves in the bushes that were scattered here and there. We regroup ready for John's signal, who had already sent a scout to the nearby location to check for more enemies. The scout returned after several minutes confirming what we had already figured. Bartholomew was all alone. He brought no man with him. But we shouldn't get our hopes up. Bartholomew was a strong and very dangerous man: a worthy opponent. Acting on impulse may have had great precautions especially for Electra. Speaking of her, unfortunately we still haven't verified that Elektra was here as well. But all the evidence points to this, otherwise Bartholomew would not have stayed on the mountain for so many days. John gave us the signal and we got in. The place was old and dirty with very few working lights. We started opening many doors yelling Bartholomew's name when a door opened revealing a fully armed Bartholomew looking at us angrily.
Elektra's pov:
-"My beautiful mate, my love, please wake up!" Alexander's voice told me softly. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around me. I was lying on a bed in a beautiful and bright bedroom.
-"Where am I?" I asked.
-"You are home!" he said with a smile. "You are safe now my love, don't worry."
-"How? How did I get here? What happened? Where is Bartholomew?"
-"Don't worry about him. He can't do you any more harm. He is dead."
-"When? How?" I wondered.
-"Relax. You will learn everything when the right time comes. Now sleep to regain your strength" he said in concern covering me with the blanket. Then he gave me a sweet kiss on the cheek while darkness overtook me again.
