"I'm not going to take that deal." You state firmly. Though the pledge would not guarantee that you have to do anything with Djir, it definitely sets you on that path and that is not what you want or need right now. You can not know the benefit that such an arrangement would have, if any. It does not necessarily mean that you will betray him, but it leaves the option to do so open, as he said.

Djir takes his hands off of you and steps back. "Aww. Alright Hero. Still think we could be friends?" He asks, tilting his head to one side. You can tell he is being somewhat serious.

"I... Suppose." You have no reason to say no at the moment, even if the answer is actually no.

Djir happily slaps you on the shoulder. "Great!"

"What's the plan tomorrow?" You are genuinely curious, but also just want to change the subject.

"You just walk right in. You're all adventurers and armies recruit adventurers all the time. Information I want is what kingdoms are involved, who or what is leading the force. If you can I would also like their numbers and the composition of their units." You blink. That reads like the shopping list for a general, not an eco terrorist.

"They wont think it suspicious that we've found them in such a strange place?" You wonder out loud.

Djir crosses his arms and steps forward to lean back against the tree you were pushed against. "They might vet you a bit, but none of you actually have much to hide since Kara isn't with you." He says offhandedly with a giggle. He knows full-well what he said.

"Wait... What does that mean? Do you know something about Kara that I don't?" You lean forward and look to Djir with intense interest.

He covers his mouth to hold in further laughter. "I do, but you're just a friend. That info is only for my very good friends. So unless you plan to change your mind-"

"I don't." You relent.

"Well, I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually." He motions with his head towards the other.
"I think we're about ready to settle in. I'll keep watch the whole night so no need to set up shifts."

"We still might." You are suspicious. That much is obvious. You are definitely not going to trust Djir to keep a good eye on you all. If he wanted to he likely could have done something already, for sure, but it is better safe than sorry in your mind.

"Suit yourself."

Night falls. If you climb up over a nearby hill you can see the lights of the army camp near the river. It is just as Djir said; you are too far off for any of them to see you. Your fire is hidden and there is no way their scouts or foragers would come out so far. Just as was promised, Djir is keeping watch throughout the night. Actually keeping watch, you note. It is not a show. He is aware of everything going on around the small camp. Knowing that, you get an idea.

"Hey..." You whisper to Heilan. The girl had been staring off into the distance for quite a while. She would answer you when you spoke to her, but she just seemed out of it.

"Yeah?" She asks without looking.

"Heilan!" You say again a little more sternly. This grabs her attention and when she looks over you kiss her. She is a bit surprised, but not put off. She leans into it and returns the kiss, even draping an arm over your shoulder. When you break the kiss she is blushing and asks with her brow furrowed.
"W-what was that about?"

"Do I really need a reason to take what's mine?" Her ears twitch at that statement. Her body seems to loosen in response. You hope playing the dominant role will partially bring her back to you, back from Djir and the results seem to speak for themselves. You have no idea what else they did after you left her body that night, but all you can do is be hopeful that she has not gotten the 'full experience.' Even if she had, part of you is confident. You have a skill that makes you good with women. You are, in theory, capable of doing wonders with what you have, even if you do objectively have less.
