Jack looked at me for a moment, then approached me and took me into his quarters. "Are you alright, love?" Jack asked me as he held my head in his hands. "How could you do this to Will?" I asked him frustrated.
"Ah, love," Jack started, his smile cheeky as ever. "You're making it sound worse than it is. Will's a clever lad, always finding a way out of trouble. And besides, I didn't exactly'sacrifice' him, did I? It's more like a... temporary loan."
You frowned, still not buying it. "You made a deal with Jones, Jack. You sold him out."
Jack raised a finger, wagging it as if you were missing the bigger picture. "Sold him out? No, no, no. It's all part of the plan, savvy? A small bump in the road. I always have something up my sleeve." He gave a sly wink, but you could see the doubt hiding in his eyes.
"And the 99 souls?" you asked, not letting him off the hook. "How are you going to do that in three days?"
Jack stepped closer, leaning in with a grin. "Ah, Tortuga, love. Full of people who, let's say, won't be missed too much. And as for Will, trust me, I won't let anything bad happen to him. Not permanently, anyway." His smile grew wider, as if that were somehow reassuring.
He then gently took your hand, his expression softening for a moment. "But don't worry, love. I'd never let anything happen to you. That's one thing I can promise." He said, and I looked at him confused. I shook my head and left Jack alone in the room.
Tortuga was as bad as ever. I sat next to Gibbs talking to the people while Jack sat behind us, kind of fighting with his compass. "And what makes you think you're worthy to crew of the Black Pearl?" Gibbs asked a man, "I've never sailed a day in my life. I figured I should get out and see the world while I'm still young." He answered. "You'll do it. Make your mark. Next!" Gibbs yelled, and another man stood in front of us. "My wife ran away with my dog, and I've been drunk for a month, and I don't give an ass rat's if I live or die." "Perfect. Next!" Gibbs said. "I have an arm and a bum leg." He said. "It's the crow's nest for you. Next!" Gibbs said, grinning. "I've always wanted to sail the seas forever." He mumbled. "Sooner than you think. Sighn the roster." He said, and then we both turned to Jack. "How are we going?" "Including those four, that gives us...four." Gibbs said, and I slowly grew impatient. Another man approached, and Gibbs turned back to him. "And what's your story?" He asked the man. "My story. It's exactly the same as your story, just one chapter behind. I chased a man across the seven seas to get the woman back he stole from me. The pursuit cost me my crew, my commission, and my life." The man spoke, and I instantly looked at him. "Norrington!" I said as I looked at him. "Commodore?" Gibbs also said, confused, "Not any more. Weren't you listening?" He asked, "I nearly had you all off Tripoli. I would have if not for the hurricane." "Lord, you didn't try to sail through it?" Gibbs asked him in horror. "So do I make your crew or not? You haven't said where you're going. Somewhere nice?" He asked and pushed over the chair, making me and Gibbs fall over. "Ouch." I mumbled as I held my head in pain. "So am I worthy to serve under Captain Jack Sparrow? Or should I just kill you now?" He asked and inted his gun at Jack. "You're hired." Jack said with a small grin. "Sorry, old habits and all that." Norrington said, and before he could fire at Jack, a few members of our crew grabbed him and held his arm up. "Easy sailor! That's our captain, you're threatening." They said, and just then another brawl was going. Jack quickly walked over to me and helped me up while he looked at my head. He took a cloth and whipped some blood that was on my forehead. "Thanks Jack." I mumbled, and he slowly pulled me up. "Time to go." He said, and we quickly made our way out of the brawl. A bottle was thrown just at the wall next to us, and Jack quickly took my hand and pulled me out faster. Another man was thrown down from the stairs while Jack took his hat to throw it away a minute later. We were finally out of the damn house, and we quickly walked back to the Black Pearl.
"Captain Sparrow!" We heard a voice behind us. "Came to join me crew, lad? Welcome aboard." Jack shouted back. "I'm here to find the man I love." The voice said. "I'm deeply flattered, son,, but my love is..." He stopped for a moment, and I looked at him patiently. "...is the sea." He finsihed. "Meaning William Turner, Captain Sparrow." The voice said, and I quickly turned around. "Elizabeth!" I yelled and ran at her, hugging her tightly. "Hide the rum." I heard Jack telling Gibbs, who quickly walked away. "These clothes do not flatter you. It should be a dress or nothing." Jack said, and I gave him a sharp look and walked past him annoyed.
Must he just be like this? We're not even together or something. And I don't even like him like that. I think.
