After a long day at school filled with tension and unresolved emotions, I decided that I couldn't just go home and wallow in my thoughts. I needed to take control of my life and make choices that reflected my desires. So, with a sudden burst of determination, I made a U-turn and headed toward Sebastian's house.
When I knocked on the door, he opened it slightly surprised, but his expression quickly turned into a warm smile. "Aria! What are you doing here?"
"Just thought I'd drop by," I replied, stepping inside and taking off my coat. The familiarity of his space enveloped me, and I felt a sense of comfort wash over me.
"Who's home?" I asked, glancing around.
"Just me," he replied casually, "The others will be back around five-thirty."
I checked the time on my phone. "It's almost four, then." An impulsive thought crossed my mind, and before I could second-guess myself, I used my powers to gently push Sebastian back onto the couch.
He looked startled, his blue eyes widening in surprise. "What-?"
Before he could finish his sentence, I leaned in and kissed him. The moment our lips met, a rush of electricity shot through me, igniting every nerve ending in my body. It was a mix of curiosity and longing, a spark that I had never felt with anyone else before.
His lips were soft against mine, warm and inviting. I pressed deeper, feeling a sense of urgency, as if we were both trying to bridge the gap that had existed between us for far too long. My heart raced as I lost myself in the kiss, our bodies instinctively gravitating closer.
Sebastian responded eagerly, his hands moving to my waist, drawing me in. The kiss deepened, becoming more passionate as I felt his fingers trail up my back, sending shivers down my spine. I tangled my fingers in his blonde hair, feeling the heat radiating off him as the world outside faded away.
We broke apart for a breath, our foreheads resting against each other, sharing a moment of silence. I could feel the warmth of his breath mingling with mine, and I searched his eyes for any hint of what this moment meant for him.
"Wow," he breathed, a mix of surprise and delight etched on his features. "That was... unexpected."
"Yeah," I chuckled nervously, suddenly aware of the implications of what I had just done. But I couldn't deny the thrill that surged through me at that moment. "I just... I wanted to."
Before we could dive deeper into conversation, I heard a soft voice behind us. "Sebastian? I'm home!"
His little sister's voice broke the tension, and we quickly pulled away from each other, both of us flushed and slightly breathless.
"Uh, hey, Cassie!" Sebastian called out, straightening himself on the couch while I attempted to regain my composure.
Cassie appeared in the doorway, a curious expression on her face as she glanced between us. "What's going on?"
"Nothing," Sebastian replied too quickly, and I couldn't help but smirk at his flustered demeanor.
"Okay..." Cassie said, raising an eyebrow. "Just making sure you weren't, like, being weird."
"Definitely not being weird," I chimed in, my cheeks still warm.
As she wandered into the kitchen, I glanced back at Sebastian. "So, um... I guess we'll have to pick this up later?"
"Yeah, I'd like that," he replied, his eyes sparkling with unspoken words.
With a lingering smile, I knew I had taken a step forward in understanding what I truly wanted. It felt exhilarating, even with the potential complications looming ahead.
As Cassie disappeared into the kitchen, I took a deep breath to steady my racing heart. The unexpected kiss lingered in the air between us, and I could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on me.
"Do you want to watch a movie while we wait for the others?" Sebastian asked, breaking the silence. His eyes held a mixture of excitement and uncertainty, and I could tell he was just as eager to continue our time together as I was.
"Sure," I replied, my voice a little softer than intended. "What do you have in mind?"
He grinned, his usual confident demeanor returning. "I have a few options. How about a classic horror film? Or maybe something more light-hearted?"
"Horror sounds good," I said, trying to match his enthusiasm. I felt a thrill at the idea of curling up next to him, sharing popcorn, and losing myself in a story for a while.
Sebastian led me to the living room, where a large TV dominated one wall. He selected a movie from the shelf, and soon the room was filled with the ominous sounds of eerie music as the film began.
I settled onto the couch next to him, the space between us filled with palpable tension. As the opening credits rolled, I felt his hand brush against mine. Tentatively, I entwined my fingers with his, and a rush of warmth coursed through me. It felt natural, right, as if we were two pieces of a puzzle finally clicking into place.
As the movie unfolded, I tried to focus on the screen, but my mind kept drifting back to Sebastian's presence beside me. The way our hands fit together felt so reassuring, grounding me amid the chaotic emotions swirling in my heart.
"Did you see that?" I gasped as a jump scare sent the characters on screen screaming. Sebastian chuckled softly, squeezing my hand tighter.
"I knew you'd jump," he teased, his voice low and playful. "You're adorable when you're scared."
I shot him a mock glare, feeling my cheeks flush. "I'm not scared!"
"Sure you're not," he replied, a grin spreading across his face.
As the movie progressed, I found myself leaning closer to him, drawn in by the warmth of his body. The scary moments of the film became secondary to the feeling of being so close to him. The tension between us shifted, becoming more charged with every passing minute.
At one particularly intense scene, I instinctively squeezed his hand, and he turned to look at me, his blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "You okay?"
I nodded, but I could feel the electricity in the air. "I'm fine. Just... caught up in the moment."
He didn't let go of my hand; instead, he leaned closer, our shoulders brushing together. The movie faded into the background as I became acutely aware of the connection we were forging.
Finally, as the credits began to roll, I turned to Sebastian. "That was actually really good."
"Yeah, it was," he agreed, his gaze lingering on me longer than the screen. "But I think I enjoyed this part even more."
Before I could respond, the door swung open, and Ethan and Emma entered, laughing and chatting. Cassie joined them shortly after, her curiosity piqued by the sight of us on the couch.
"Hey, you two! What did we miss?" Emma called out, a teasing smile on her face.
"Just watching a movie," I replied, trying to sound casual, but I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks.
Ethan raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk forming on his lips. "Yeah, right. It looks like you were up to more than just that."
Sebastian shot him a glare, but I could see the amusement in his eyes. "Shut it, Ethan," he muttered, but there was no real malice behind his words.
Cassie plopped down on the floor, her eyes wide with interest. "Did you guys kiss?"
"Whoa, Cassie!" I exclaimed, but I couldn't help but laugh at her boldness.
"Maybe," Sebastian said, trying to maintain an air of mystery.
"Definitely," I added, my heart racing.
"Well, this just got interesting," Emma said with a grin as she joined us on the couch.
The atmosphere shifted, filled with excitement and a hint of teasing, but I could still feel Sebastian's hand resting in mine. The world outside faded away, and for that moment, surrounded by laughter and the warmth of connection, everything felt right.
