Monday at Evernight High School felt unusually heavy. Lucas, Damian, and Jaxon didn't show up, leaving an unsettling void in the hallways. My heart raced as I looked around, half expecting them to appear any moment. The absence of Lucas, in particular, gnawed at me, and the concern weighed on me like a lead blanket.

During lunch, I noticed Emma tapping her phone anxiously, her brow furrowed. "I can't reach Lucas," she murmured, glancing around the cafeteria as if she expected him to walk in at any moment. "This isn't like him. Or Damian. Something feels off."

"Maybe they're just... busy?" I suggested, but even I didn't believe it. The tension in the air was palpable.

Emma shook her head. "No. Something's definitely wrong. I'm going to call Clara."

"Who's Clara?" I asked, puzzled.

"My cousin. She's a witch," Emma replied casually, as if that were the most normal thing in the world.

"A witch?" I repeated, my disbelief evident. "You mean like-"

"Yeah, a real witch. She's twenty-six, super wise, and has a knack for all things magical," Emma said, excitement lighting her eyes. "If anyone can help, it's her."

My mind raced. Witches were real? I barely had time to process this revelation when Emma pulled out her phone and dialed.

"Clara! It's Emma. I need your help," she said, her voice a mix of urgency and concern. After a moment, she looked at me, her expression a mix of hope and fear. "Lucas, Damian, and Jaxon haven't shown up to school. Something's not right."

Emma's voice faded into the background as I tried to comprehend the reality of witches, warlocks, and the supernatural world that was closing in around me.

After a few minutes, Emma hung up. "Clara's on her way. She said she'll use a locator spell to track them down."

"A locator spell? Is that safe?" I asked, apprehension creeping into my voice.

"She's a pro," Emma reassured me. "We'll be fine."

Just then, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. I felt restless and anxious, my mind spinning with thoughts of Lucas and the looming danger. What if they were in trouble? What if something had happened to them?

Later that afternoon, Clara arrived, her vibrant energy filling the room as she stepped into Emma and Ethan's house. She had long, dark hair, striking green eyes, and an air of confidence that made me feel both at ease and a bit intimidated.

"Hey, you must be Aria," she said, her gaze scanning me with a hint of curiosity. "Emma's told me a lot about you."

"Nice to meet you," I replied, feeling oddly scrutinized.

"Okay, let's get to work," Clara said, her tone shifting to business-like. She pulled out a small pouch filled with various herbs and crystals, laying them out on the table with deft movements. "I'll need your help, Emma. You'll be my anchor."

As they began the spell, Clara explained what she was doing. "The locator spell will help us find Lucas, Damian, and Jaxon. But we need to focus. Are you ready?"

Emma nodded, and I did my best to calm my racing heart as Clara's voice took on a rhythmic chant, the words flowing like a river of magic.

Suddenly, the air crackled with energy, and a shimmering image appeared above the table, revealing three familiar figures standing in a dimly lit forest. My heart soared with relief to see Lucas, Damian, and Jaxon, but my relief was short-lived as I noticed the tension in the air.

Clara's brow furrowed as she examined the scene. "They're in a war zone," she whispered, her voice grave. "It's a conflict between werewolves and vampires. They've managed to keep it quiet."

"What?" I gasped, the reality crashing over me like a wave. "A war? Why hasn't anyone said anything?"

"Because it's dangerous," Clara replied. "And there's more. I've never sensed anything like you, Aria. You have a unique energy that's drawing me in, but I can't quite pinpoint what it is."

Her words sent a shiver down my spine. What was I? I had always felt different, but now it felt like I was standing on the edge of a cliff, peering into a chasm of secrets.

Before I could ask for clarification, the vision flickered, and Clara shook her head, breaking the connection. "We need to go to them. Now."

"Wait! What about Sebastian?" I asked, suddenly remembering he wasn't with them.

"He'll meet us there," Clara assured me, already gathering her things. "We need to move quickly."

As we rushed out of the house, I felt a sense of urgency pulse through me. I was stepping into a world of danger and uncertainty, but something deeper pulled me forward. Whatever secrets lay ahead, I was determined to uncover them.
