Lukas walked beside Aria, their hands entwined as they moved through the quiet streets, the moon casting a gentle glow over the path ahead. He glanced over at her, the soft light making her features even more striking than usual. Her hair moved slightly with the breeze, and her eyes-those eyes he could lose himself in-were focused on the road ahead, a soft smile playing on her lips.

He tightened his grip on her hand, feeling the warmth of her skin against his, and his heart swelled with emotions that had been building inside him for what felt like forever. There were no words for how deeply he loved her. Even now, walking hand in hand with her, it felt surreal.

Lukas had always known, even before the mate bond revealed itself, that Aria was the only woman for him. There had never been anyone else who stirred something so profound within him. Even when they had been apart-when Aria was with Sebastian-his love for her hadn't wavered. It had hurt, of course. Every day was a reminder of how much he wanted her, needed her. But Lukas had always believed that one day, somehow, fate would bring them together.

And now, here they were.

He stole another glance at her, his chest tightening with emotion. God, she was beautiful. Aria was the kind of beautiful that went beyond physical appearance. It was in the way she moved, the way she laughed, the way her spirit shone even after everything she had endured. She had been through hell-fighting battles, losing Sebastian, navigating a world where so much was demanded of her. Yet she was still standing.

Resilient. Strong. Incredible.

Lukas had loved her through it all. From the first time he had seen her, he had known there was something special about her. It wasn't just the mate bond that tied them together; it was the way she understood him, the way she made him feel whole. Even when they had been on rocky terms, when they hadn't spoken for weeks, Lukas had never stopped loving her. He couldn't. It wasn't something he could turn off.

He loved her when they were friends. He loved her when they were distant. He had loved her from afar, even when it had torn him apart to see her with Sebastian. And now, walking beside her, holding her hand like this-he loved her more than ever.

As they walked, Aria turned to him, catching him staring. Her smile widened, and Lukas felt his heart skip a beat. He had seen that smile so many times, but it never failed to take his breath away. She didn't know just how much she affected him, how every small gesture, every glance, only made him fall deeper.

"What?" she asked, teasing him softly.

Lukas chuckled, shaking his head. "Nothing," he replied, but inside, everything was swirling. He wanted to tell her. Tell her how much she meant to him. But he didn't want to overwhelm her, not when she was still healing.

But the truth was, Lukas had loved Aria through the pain. He had loved her when it hurt to see her with someone else, when he wasn't sure if she'd ever feel the same way. And now, after all this time, knowing that she had chosen him-chosen them-was more than he could have ever hoped for.

They stopped at a park bench, the soft glow of the streetlights illuminating the space around them. Lukas sat down beside her, their hands still intertwined, and he couldn't help but stare at her again. He had seen Aria in battle, seen her fierce and unyielding, but this-her calm, her softness-was what he cherished most.

"I know you've been through a lot," Lukas said quietly, his voice thick with emotion. "And I know it wasn't easy, everything with Sebastian, and... everything else. But I need you to know, Aria-"

He paused, trying to find the right words.

"I need you to know that I've always loved you," Lukas continued, his voice steady now. "Even when it hurt. Even when I thought I might never have a chance. It's always been you."

Aria's eyes widened slightly, and Lukas could see the emotions flickering across her face. He could feel the bond between them pulsing, stronger now than it had ever been before. It was as if the universe was finally aligning, giving them the moment they had both been waiting for.

"I love you, Aria," Lukas said softly. "I always have. And you're perfect. Not just because of the bond, but because of who you are. Strong, brave, beautiful-you're everything."

There was a beat of silence between them, and Lukas could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He had never felt so exposed, so raw, as he did in this moment. But he had to tell her, had to make sure she knew how deeply he felt.

Aria's hand squeezed his, her eyes softening as she leaned closer. "Lukas," she whispered, her voice filled with something that made his heart swell even more. "I don't know what to say..."

"You don't have to say anything," Lukas assured her. "I just need you to know that I'll always be here. No matter what happens, no matter where life takes us-I'm here. And I'll never stop loving you."

A tear slipped down Aria's cheek, and she quickly wiped it away with her free hand, laughing softly through the emotion. Lukas reached out, brushing his thumb gently across her cheek, wiping away the tear she had missed.

They sat like that for a while, the world around them fading into the background as they soaked in the moment. Lukas could feel the love he had for her bubbling up, overwhelming in its intensity, but also peaceful. He wasn't afraid of it anymore. He wasn't scared of what the future held, because for the first time in his life, he felt like everything was exactly as it should be.

She was his, and he was hers. There was no more waiting, no more wondering. The future was theirs to build, together.

And Lukas couldn't wait to see where their journey would lead.
