The world around me blurred into the background as I immersed myself in the glow of Damian's presence. The cafeteria buzzed with chatter and laughter, but all I could hear was the smooth cadence of his voice as he spoke to me. He sat across the table, and I couldn't help but feel the warmth radiating from him, pulling me in like a moth to a flame.

I barely noticed when Emma waved at me from the other end of the table. Her cheerful smile felt distant, like a fading memory. I'd grown accustomed to ignoring her, just as I had Lucas and Sebastian. Their faces were becoming mere shadows, while Damian shone like the sun, illuminating everything around him.

"Are you even listening?" he teased, a playful glint in his gray eyes. I blinked, shaking myself out of the haze that surrounded me.

"Of course," I replied, forcing a smile that I hoped didn't reveal my wandering thoughts. All that mattered was making him happy, keeping him engaged. I leaned closer, hanging on every word that left his lips, wanting to absorb every part of him.

As lunch continued, I watched my friends from the corner of my eye. Emma sat with Ethan, her brow furrowed with worry as she glanced over at me. Lucas was seated nearby, his expression one of frustration mixed with concern. But I couldn't allow their thoughts to penetrate my blissful bubble. They were irrelevant now-what did their opinions matter when I had Damian?

I shifted in my seat, intentionally placing my body so that I faced him, blocking out the view of everyone else. The laughter and chatter faded, drowned out by the rhythm of my heartbeat, which pulsed in time with the undeniable draw I felt toward him. I was lost in him, and for the first time, I didn't care about anyone else.

"Let's hang out after school," Damian suggested, his voice smooth and inviting. "Just you and me."

"Really?" I asked, my heart racing at the thought. The idea of being alone with him sent a thrill coursing through me. Nothing else mattered. I nodded eagerly. "I'd love that."

"Great," he said, flashing a smile that made my stomach flutter. "I'll pick you up."

After lunch, I walked through the hallways, ignoring the whispers that followed me. It didn't bother me that people were talking; I was in my own world, wrapped in the warmth of Damian's attention. I passed Emma and Ethan in the hall, but I turned away, not wanting to engage. The briefest pang of guilt flared inside me, but I squashed it down. Damian was all that mattered.

As the day wore on, I found myself gravitating toward him at every opportunity. When I saw him leaning against the lockers, I felt a rush of relief flood through me. He was my anchor, my safe place. I slid beside him, resting my head against his shoulder. His arm encircled me, and I reveled in the comfort of his embrace, blocking out the distant concerns of my friends.

"Why don't you spend the night?" he suggested with a hint of mischief in his voice. My heart soared at the prospect.

"Really?" I asked, eyes wide with excitement. "You mean it?"

"Of course," he replied, his gaze unwavering. "I just want to make sure you're safe and happy. It's all that matters, right?"

"Right," I agreed, the words tumbling from my lips as if they were the only truth I needed. Everything else faded away-the whispers of my friends, the concern etched on their faces, the nagging doubts that had once gnawed at me. They no longer existed in my reality.

When the final bell rang, I felt a rush of euphoria wash over me. I was finally free to be with him. I waved goodbye to Emma and Ethan, ignoring the urgency in their voices as they called out to me. The look of desperation on Emma's face struck a chord, but it was quickly drowned out by the thrill of being with Damian.

As we left the school grounds, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was stepping into a new reality, one where I was completely enveloped in Damian's world. He held my hand, and I let him guide me, trusting him implicitly.

I moved away from the shadows of my friends, their concerns fading into whispers behind me. All that mattered was this moment, this connection, and the intoxicating feeling of being wanted. As we walked, I leaned into him, allowing the world to fade even further into the background.

There was nothing wrong-how could there be? Damian was everything, and I was lost in the illusion he created around us.
