I removed the gear protection from my shoulders, knowing I would not fit into the car with it, and slid in beside Mia.

"We'll stop at the penthouse so I can change. I want to take you out on a proper date," I said, grinning, but Mia just looked at me, her silence unnerving. "I promise, nothing like last time will happen today."

Zeus was napping, calm in the back of my mind. Everything felt under control, and I knew he would behave this time.

The evening felt surprisingly easy, thanks to Mia's acceptance of the bond, even though she still did not fully understand what it entailed.

"Make yourself at home," I told her, gesturing to the open space of the penthouse. "Sit down, wander around—what's mine is yours."

Mia glanced discreetly at the wall, the same one I had damaged during my outburst. It had already been patched, looking like nothing had happened.

"Did you get rid of the painting?" She asked, frowning slightly at the empty wall.

"The painting's being serviced," I said, brushing it off. "It'll be back soon." I kissed her cheek quickly, not wanting to dwell on the past. "I won't be long."

I went to the bedroom, quickly changing into dark jeans and a red hoodie to match Mia's casual look. She was still wrapped in my navy hoodie, her scent mixing with mine.

"Ready?" As I stepped back into the room. Mia jumped slightly, turning from the picture frame she had been examining.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude," she said, a little flustered.

I shook my head, stepping closer. "You're not intruding. I told you, everything here is yours too."

She gestured toward the frame. "Is this your mum?"

I nodded, a nostalgic smile creeping up. "Yeah, that's her."

"She's beautiful. You look a lot like her," Mia said softly.

I smirked, leaning in a little closer. "Is that your way of saying I'm handsome?"

She rolled her eyes, her barriers entirely down, a side of her I rarely got to see. "You know you're handsome, Alex. You don't need me to tell you that."

"Well, I have no problem complimenting you. Mia Taylor, you are the most stunning girl I've ever met."

Her cheeks flushed instantly, and in one smooth motion, I pulled her against my chest. We stood facing the floor-to-ceiling mirror.

Mia's dark hair fell in soft waves, her cheeks tinged with pink, a sign of her love for me. My blonde hair and tanned skin contrasted perfectly with hers. We were perfect, and I could fly to New York and shout it from the top of the Empire State Building.

I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her even closer. I leaned in, my lips brushing her ear, my voice low and possessive, filled with everything I felt for her. "We're perfect together. Can you see it?"
