Alpha Maximus Black
"Ares, why did you take control like that? Why did you rush to help that boy when we're allied with his father, Alpha George Cromwell?"
"Because, in a way, he's my father," Ares replied calmly.
"What? Ares, do you even hear yourself? A bond like this doesn't exist. How could he be your father?" I pressed, ensuring my wolf knew what he was talking about.
But Ares did not even flinch inside my mind. "His wolf is Zeus, who gave me life once upon a time. I felt it."
I rubbed my temples, trying to process what he was saying. "Are you sure this isn't just some wild instinct of yours, Ares?"
"Yes, Max. I don't remember much about my past life, but I'm certain. We need to protect him from Alpha George."
I shook my head, trying to rein in my scepticism. "Mate, you aren't making any sense. You know that, right?"
Ares chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Kid, he'll be our Alpha King, and it's our job to help him get there."
"An Alpha King?" I let out a sharp laugh. "You must be joking and completely lost it now, buddy. Do you remember what happened to the last one who tried to take that title? We killed him very slowly."
Ares smirked as if already envisioning a future he knew was inevitable. "No, I didn't forget. But mark my words. This one will make it because he got us, Kid."
I scratched my forehead, looking at Aphrodite's calm face sitting across from us. Her presence was unnervingly steady while she knew Ares and I were discussing heavily. She had not given Julie control the whole day. Of course, that sassy little wolf knew about everything.
"You know, don't you?" I asked, clenching my jaw.
Aphrodite's shiny pink eyes met mine, a faint smile on her lips, her silence saying more than words. She knew far more than she let on, yet Aphrodite left me to unravel it myself.
"I can't believe you were hiding things from us again, Aphrodite. It didn't end well seven years ago, and now you're doing it again. Your antics nearly cost Julie her life. Didn't you learn from it?" I exhaled sharply, frustration building. "Apparently not if you're keeping secrets about something this important."
She waved her hand dismissively like my concerns were trivial. "Oh, handsome, everything's under control. No need for the theatrics," she said, a smirk tugging at her lips. "You're all worked up over nothing."
"Now, what?" I asked, frustration edging into my voice.
"Now we've got to figure everything out. His power is bound. You felt it, didn't you? And as for Hera... he said his mate doesn't have a wolf. But her wolf must be bound, too. Perhaps dormant."

Fantastik"More?" He pressed. Mia only nodded her head, unable to speak. He brushed his nose against her cheek and commanded in her ear. "Then, beg for more," Zeus smirked. His eyes shone in the dim bedroom, and his hand stopped playing with her clit. "Beg...
