*Xavia's POV*
God started leading us to the throne room, but Raziel and Aubrey had questions as we headed there. It was apparent that we wouldn't be going anywhere, and I was okay with that.
I didn't want to be too far from my mate.
Surrounded by friends and family, I felt an unmistakable shift in the air. Grace was clearly getting worked up, and her emotional energy was like a magnetic pull drawing me in. As I tried to stay focused on the conversation with God and those around me, her current state teased me.
I reached out to her through our mind link—my thoughts were urgent and heated as I said to my mate, "You're making it very hard for me not to go to you and taste you."
A shiver ran down my spine as Grace's response came through, rough and edged with frustration, "Fuck, Xavia... You're going to drive me insane."
I fought to maintain my composure, though my thoughts were anything but serene.
Still with God and my friends, I replied, trying to sound steady despite the tremor of desire in my voice, "I can't help it, baby. You're clearly getting worked up, and I have to wonder where you've run off to."
Even with her frustration, Grace's retort was almost playful.
Her words resonated in my mind, "Does it make it better knowing this is happening because I'm thinking about doing specific things with you?"
I clenched my jaws.
I want her so bad...
My body betrayed me with a rush of longing, feeling the heat of the situation as I admitted, "It's making me want you even more, and now I'm totally not paying attention to your dad."
Grace's laugh reached me, and it was like a breath of fresh air in a stifling room. Her amusement sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
I closed my eyes, savoring the sound of her voice, "If I give you a little more insight, will you be a good girl and let me surprise you in the near future?"
I—fuck...
Yes.
I'll always be her good girl...
Through the mental link, I could almost see her teasing smile as I replied instantly, "Yes, I promise."
Grace's voice softened, full of affection and anticipation, "I'm doing research for us... for our relationship—our bond. It's something I've been thinking about for a while, and I am confident you'll love the idea as well."
I was excited and curious as I responded, "A promise is a promise. As you wish, baby, I will drop it. But please, for my sake, try not to get too stimulated; otherwise, you're going to have some explaining to do when all of Heaven hears the sound of you screaming my name."
Grace chuckled again, "Shit... You couldn't help yourself, could you?"
"Heh, you know me," I responded, my voice laced with affection.
"I sure do, and I love you," Grace's words were a balm to my yearning heart.
"I love you so much, too," I mentally echoed back, feeling a warmth spread through me at her words.
Once our silent conversation was done, I tried to focus on what God was saying, but... my thoughts kept drifting back to Grace. I missed her smile, presence, aura, light, and warmth. It was so wonderful to have her as my mate; she was attuned to me in ways I couldn't fully describe, but it was incredibly comforting.
