Louisa stood in a corner watching the kids play happily, and she wished that her best friend was here. She had no idea of what was wrong with Cheryl, and she had tried to talk to her countless times today, but it was not working.

She had no idea what Miles and Cheryl discussed or what Miles had said made her so upset, but she was certain that Miles had said something because the moment she left alone she found Cheryl wiping outside the hospital.

It's been ages since she last saw Cheryl cry and when she tried talking to her, she just left. Louisa knew she hadn't done anything but the fight between her best friend and the woman she loved was really getting out of hand.

She stood up and walked into the office to pack her things together so that she could go home, but Eric stopped her along the way.

“What's wrong?”

“You've been acting weird the entire day. Do you perhaps wanna talk?” She looked at him with a smile on her face.

“There's just a serious fight between Cheryl and Miles.”

“How does this have to do with you!”

“You're crazy. Cheryl is my best friend, Miles is my mate and I can't have both of them fighting all the damn time. They mean a lot to me and I don't like it when they're both at each other's neck all the damn time.”

“Try to make them understand themselves. Cheryl is a warrior and very sensitive when it comes to people she doesn't know. Miles, on the other hand, was a rogue a month or two ago and yeah, I know she should have gotten used to it by now but then again she hasn't and within a month Miles lost his mind due to lack of sleep which we all do but didn't realize he wasn't sleeping earlier. Give Cheryl sometime and speak to Miles on how to talk to people he hates everyone around him except you.”

“How do you even know that?”

“The only reason Miles is staying here it's because of you, not because of Your father forced him to stay. He is an Alpha's child, and you can easily tell how your father and brother act. Miles is far stronger than your brother and disobeying your father is not a big deal to him because he doesn't want a father figure after what his father had done to him.”

“You know so much more about him than I do.”

“I was a part of his pack before here. His father is cruel as hell and Miles doesn't want anyone to be close to him except Mitch and you and that's because you're his mate, and he never wants to repeat the mistake his father made, even if he doesn't like you he will try for the sake of his mother. Yeah, he is all grown up but have you ever heard of a child in a man's body?”

“Not really.”

“He was young when his mother died and his father got married again. The trouble started, and he was traumatized by it all, he is trapped within those memories, and he lives with them and according to them. He grew up but he never really changed. The only thing that changed was that he found you and doesn't want to break you. He didn't stay three years wondering because he didn't have where to go, Miles had many people that he could go to but his trust, the heart and everything he owns has been taken away from him. What makes you think he will want to give it another try?”

“He will never want to. “

"Exactly, give him time, let him get to know you and let him learn to trust you. You wanted him for so long now it's time for you to be patient and let him get out of the shell he is in.“ She looked at him curiously and then at her office door.

“Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how much it means to me.”

“Oh hell yes I do, you've been acting like a lost little girl ever since Cheryl left.” she let out a laugh as she wiped away the tears that threatened to fall “... You should go home with Miles and maybe tomorrow you try talking to Cheryl.”

“Thank you, take care of everything. “

“You worry too much just go, already!” They both laughed, and she walked to the door before opening it.

She saw Miles looking at her as he laid on the couch with his legs crossed which made her smile a bit for the frown on his face told another thing.

“Hey!”

“Hi.” he smiled in response and sat up from the couch to face her. “... Are you going home or are we staying in this dreaded hospital?”

“Hey! Don't say that, people stay here.” he let out a chuckle.

“Relax! I'm just joking but seriously are we leaving? I am tired of this place.”

“Yes, we are leaving, I just need to close this…" She trailed off as she struggled with the zipper of the bag, and he stood up to see what she was doing.

“Give me that.” he took the bag away before she could even say a word, and he closed the zipper before carrying it and every other thing she needed in another bag

“Are you sure you don't want help?” She asked, feeling worried.

“I rested for more than forty-eight hours. What in the world makes you think you can't carry two light bags?”

“I don't know if you had any side effects due to the drugs.”

“I don't, let's go you worry too much.” he kissed her forehead and she was totally stunned by that, but she was happy about it as well

They both walked out of the room, and they were out of the hospital in no time. Miles watched her as she looked at the stars while not walking which made him smile.

He remembered when he used to do this with his mother when she was still alive. He wished she could have stayed longer, but he knew the moon goddess has her safe wherever she was.

“I heard everything.” he said, and she looked at him completely confused.

“I don't understand, what did you hear?”

“Eric…" Her heart immediately dropped, and she felt extremely bad but he placed his hand on her. “... Mitch was not going to tell you, I couldn't do it, and he lost it.”

“You knew he was going to tell me?”

“Not really, he hasn't spoken to me since I came here just based on my health. He was going to tell you eventually I knew that.”

“Why didn't you tell me about it?”

“I'm literally the worst person to explain anything, especially when it comes to talking about myself and my past, it's difficult.”

“I understand what you mean, are you ready to meet Dad?”

“He will kill me.” she let out a laugh.
