Louisa walked around the house but didn't find him anywhere and something within her guided her towards the gate of the pack.
She shifts into her wolf form to reach him before he gets to go out of the pack, but the warriors on duty wouldn't even let him do that, but again, she really couldn't be sure of that.
She shifted back to her human form and put on a dress she was holding the moment she saw him talking to one of the warriors, but she didn't move out of her hidden spot.
She watched closely as he talked and after a few minutes, he turned around to look at where he's standing, but she hid behind the tree.
When she looked back, he was gone, which only meant they let him leave and he actually left her here.
“I certainly hate tears so don't do it.” she screamed the moment she heard his voice beside her, and she put her hand against her chest.
“Goodness! You scared me! How did you get here?”
“I'm a werewolf, do I really need to explain that to you?” His voice was cold, and that was certainly something she didn't like.
“You don't have to be so rude about it. Are you ok?” She tried touching the scar on his cheek, but he moved away.
“Don't worry about me, I'll be fine before tomorrow morning, but you shouldn't be out here this late.”
“Didn't you think I'd follow you when you left the house like that? What is wrong with you? Why did you and brother get into a fight?”
“Your brother already has a problem with me being your mate, of course he will have a problem with me staying in the same house with me. He started it, and he really got what he deserved.” he turned around and headed towards the house, which made him let out a sigh.
She certainly didn't know what to do anymore. She loved her brother, but he was also her mate so she couldn't let go of him. She was the reason for them fighting, and now she has to live with two aggressive men.
Miles didn't like the idea of staying in pack one, but she sensed it but was he willing to leave her without saying a word for the sake of him leaving the pack?
She couldn't help but question herself in this situation as she trailed behind him. He had no shirt on, and she guessed that it was ripped off from the fight, but what could have caused this whole situation?
When they got to the house, she saw her father sitting down on the couch with her brother being nursed by Sophie.
“Louisa go to your room, Sophie do the same” he rather ordered and Louisa wanted to interrupt, but she couldn't due to the glare her father gave her.
“Fine.” she grumbled before walking upstairs with her sister-in-law.
She stood in the hallway in front of her room wanting to listen to everything her father was about to say, but after an hour of standing there she heard absolutely nothing.
She walked into her room while feeling sleepy and just when she closed her eyes she heard a knock on the door which made her groan.
“Dad…" She trailed off when she noticed that it was Miles that was standing there with a sad smile on his face.
“Can I talk to you for a second?” He asked softly, and she looked at him curiously before opening the door widely and he walked in.
She closed the door, to get his attention and he shocked her by sitting on the floor with his legs crossed.
“Don't sit on the floor, their literally a couch behind you.”
“Nah! I don't feel comfortable doing that. You can sit on the couch.” she looked at him then the couch before deciding to sit on the floor with him.
“What do you want to talk about?”
“I'm sorry. I know I woke you from sleep, and I'm sorry for fighting with your brother and talking rudely.”
“How did you two get in a fight at this hour of the night?”
“Well I could sleep, and I was outside playing with a cat I found before he scared the cat away, and I was annoyed about it, but I didn't start the fight. He punched me when I was about to walk into the house and well that's how it happened.”
“Are the scars going to go away?”
“Yeah, it just needs some time, and I'll be fine, you don't need to worry about it but are you ok?”
“Yeah I'm fine, I'm just disturbed but the fact that you don't want to stay in the pack or with me” her words were like daggers to his heart, but he knew she wasn't lying.
“I'm sorry, please…" He trailed off when the tears rolled down her cheek.
“If I wasn't there and the warriors allowed you, would you have left or not?” She questioned, and he went silent for a few minutes.
“I would. I'm not gonna lie to you, I would have left without thinking twice about it, but the problem isn't you at all. You have a family and I certainly don't want to separate you from them and…"
“I would have gone with you, you know? I spent almost every time of my life thinking about the day I finally got to meet you. I prayed to the moon goddess every single day for you to appear in some kind of way, but I never saw you. I'm a woman and at some point I'm meant to leave my family and go with you.”
“I guess it's the other way around for me.”
“You never wanted a mate?” She questioned feeling a part of her break into pieces.
“I never did due to what happened to my …" He trailed off, not to want to talk about his mother in front of her, he will probably just start crying.
“You're not happy I can feel it Miles, and it's ok if you would rather not tell me anything about your past, but please don't reject me. I'll just die in the process of acceptance.” he realized that he was about to do what his after had done to his mother who led to her death which made him hold her hand and shake his head.
“I wouldn't do that, never. I lost my mother in that process. I wouldn't want your father to lose his daughter. That is just a pain in a whole new level.” she placed her head to chest as tears rolled down her cheek.
