They both got into the house and Alpha Jackson looked at them from upstairs curiously. Miles seemed to be ok and a part of him was happy, but another part still doubts his every move.He did nearly lay a hand on his daughter, and nothing scares the shit right out of him than his children being in trouble or being upset.
He walked downstairs, and his footsteps caught their attention. Watching as Miles kept the bag on the table with a sigh and his daughter running up to him, he opened his arms.
“Dad! I missed you so much.” he let out a laugh.
“Honey you were only gone for one night, and you miss me this much?”
“Of course I do, don't you miss me?”
“Unfortunately I don't.” she let out a dramatic gasp, and he shook his head in amusement. “... You're crazy, come on, go upstairs I want to talk to your boyfriend.” Miles raised an eyebrow at the sound of that.
“Dad!” Alpha Jackson let out a laugh as his daughter's face flushed in embarrassment and she ran upstairs.
He shook his head, knowing that she was alright and turned back to Miles who was looking at the floor with his hands rubbing one another.
“Well…"
“I'm sorry.” Miles blurted out before looking at him. “... I'm sorry about what I did when I was out of my mind. Louisa told me how bad it was but didn't tell me what I did, and I'm so sorry about it.” Alpha Jackson let out a sigh while looking at him.
“I'm not bothered by what you did to me, you really don't like people, Miles” they both let out a chuckle knowing how true it was. “... I'm bothered by the fact that you almost hit Louisa, nearly killed Cheryl twice, scared Sophie to death and put Blakely's life in danger.”
“What?!” Miles asked in shock, as he clearly couldn't remember doing any of that.
“Kid I understand that you lost it and were completely out of your mind, but your biggest mistake was not going to Louisa or telling her about it.” They both walked outside in a slow phase.
“What do you mean?”
“She's your mate, and you don't like to have one, but deep down you like her. She can help you by just staying with you, that's what mates do. No one could help you better than her to stop pulling away from the bond.”
“I'm not pulling away, I'm worried that they might get to her.”
“Your family can't do anything to my daughter while I'm still alive.”
“How do you know I'm talking about my family?”
“They are the only people you are actually scared of, precisely your Father. It's ok to be scared, but don't make the mistake of screwing things up in the present due to the past.”
“It's difficult, you know?”
“Of course, I know that nothing in life is easy. I'm not telling you because Louisa is my daughter but because she has nightmares of her mother who she has never seen everyday ever since she was little, it hunts her, so I understand your situation with your parents.”
“I'm in her nightmares now, I had to wake her up this morning.”
“You both don't have nightmares when you sleep together, I don't understand why you are still staying in separate rooms. You're hurting each other without seeing it. It's good to have you home.”
“Home?”
“Yes, you might not consider this your home hell, you don't even like being here…" He chuckled. “... But this is your home, and you can feel free to come here anytime. If you go back to your pack some day, go along with her, of course she's giving me a headache.” Miles let out a laugh.
“She's the sweetest thing, you know.”
“And the mate bond has started deceiving as well, run along kid she might need you but make sure you get to Sophie and Cheryl.”
“Cheryl literally hates me, and she annoys me, I really don't know how to keep up with her.”
“Louisa is affected by you guys' relationship. You both mean everything to her and you both will get along because of her, to run along kid.” Miles wanted to walk away, but then he stopped and turned back to Alpha Jackson. “... What is…" He trailed off when Miles hugged him.
“Thanks man, it means a lot.”
“You call me man again I'll reap your head off your body, boy.” Miles let out a laugh.
“Come on, you love your daughter so much you wouldn't do that to her mate now would you?”
“Miles!”
“Ok fine, I'm going.” he immediately picked the bags from the table and ran upstairs and towards his room.
Alpha Jackson shook his head and walked out of the house to do the work he had to.
Miles opened the door and furrowed his eyebrows confused as he saw the color of the sheet on his bed. Pink! A color he will gladly kill someone for.
“You hate it, don't you?” He heard Louisa's voice, and he looked at her.
“Nah, it's ok, I can manage.”
“You are such a liar, your face tells everything. Take a shower, I'll change it.”
“No, I'll change it. You need rest more than I do, you've been working all day, so go and take a bath. I'll take care of this whole flamingo problem.”
“Flamingo…" She burst into laughter as he pushed her out of the room gently. “... Miles, it's not a bad idea for me to actually help you know.”
“Of course I do, but you need to rest now, bye bye.”
“You're being mean.” she pouts.
“Mean? Excuse me for this whole flamingo problem…" He trailed off when she started laughing again.
He would be lying if this wasn't the most beautiful thing he had seen all day. Her hair loosened from its messy bun and flowed behind her as she laughed.
“You are really crazy, who in the world calls a pink Flamingo, for goodness’s sake it's an animal not a color.”
“That's the only thing I could think of now, go and take a bath before I call your brother.” she looked at him for a few seconds before bursting into laughter.
“You will never call my brother, hell! You both despise each that I actually think you both could be siblings in years to come.”
“I swear….”
“Ok I'm going.” she let out a smile like someone who was drunk and gave him a little wave.
He watched as she slid into her room like the crazy woman that he was, which made him shake his head with a smile on his face.
