He limped away from the place where he had fought and shifted back into his human body. He hissed as he realized he had lost his clothes during the fight. The town he was going to was a few miles away.
He couldn't walk into the town naked, nor could he go into it as a wolf. He was in a bit of a dilemma and was stuck. The pain in his leg was beginning to subside since he was healing.
He turned around and sprinted towards the place he felt he would find his clothes. He was lucky to find it after a few searches and put it on. He reviewed himself and felt he could still pass off as a human.
He began to head towards the town. When he got to the outskirts, he took his time to sniff around to know if it was a werewolf town. He was relieved to find it was a human town.
He headed towards one of the hotels in the town. It was a kind of little town that had a minimal population and everyone knew each other. He checked into the hotel and jumped on the bed to sleep for some time.
He knew he wouldn't be able to meet his friend until right in the evening. That was the protocol. His friend was still in the pack and helped him to put an eye out on what was going on in the pack.
Sleep evaded him as he began to think of how he had gone from being the next Alpha of Blue Crystal pack to being a rogue. He shook his head as he recollected all that had happened to him in the three years since he had become a rogue.
His mother and father weren't mates. They had both been arranged for each other since none of them could find their mates. He had been the only product of the union.
He had seen his father as an earnest man while he was growing up as a young boy. However, a few months after he turned eight years old, he noticed his father became absent from home a lot.
He hadn't thought much about it since he thought he was away on Pack's business. What he hadn't known then was that his father had found his mate and couldn't deny the mate's bond.
The next thing he knew was that he and his mother had to move away from the pack, and they moved away to another pack, which was his mother's maiden pack.
Her father was the Alpha of the pack. They stayed there until he was ten and then, he came back from school one day and found his mother was dead.
The reports about her death were hazy as no one knew what was wrong with her. She had woken up that morning and after seeing her son off to school, she had returned home and eaten breakfast.
She was speaking with her father in his office when she slumped and began to foam in the mouth. By the time she was conveyed hastily to the hospital, she had died.
The autopsy that was conducted on her revealed stress as the cause of her death, but her family thought otherwise. There was nothing that could be done since there was no evidence of her being poisoned or strangled.
Two weeks after his mother's death, his father came for him. He had told his maternal grandmother that he was entitled to live with his son. He wasn't allowed any day because if he had his way then, he would have chosen to stay with his mother's family.
He went through hell in the hands of his father's mate. His father had turned a blind eye because he would rather not do anything to upset his mate. She already had a boy and he was gone with his mother.
“No matter what, my son is entitled to become the next Alpha of this pack. Your mother was only a whore that was brought to keep my mate's bed warm.”
His father's mare would often tell h. He wouldn't forget the very first time he shifted. It had been early in the morning while everyone was eating breakfast.
At least, he had a decent bed in a nice room, although he lacked toys and some other boy things which his half brother had in abundance.
He had just turned sixteen and suddenly, he felt pain all over his body. He began to jerk and twist his body. A few of the pack warriors stood up and formed a ring around him since they knew what he was about to do.
A black wolf that was huge for a boy his age and being the first time he had shifted stood where he had been sitting. He remembered seeing the pride in his father's eyes and the strange envy in his father's mate's eyes.
He had Alpha blood on both sides of his parents. He remembered leaping out of the room and running away towards the jungle. He heard the pounding of hooves and looked back to see wolves with him.
When everyone shifted back, he recalled that the biggest wolf that came after him was his father. His father's wolf had even smelt him around and nozzled him with his nose while he purred affectionately.
