*Lexi's POV*

The next morning Liliana was honestly scared to have her braces put on. I couldn't blame her. I was scared when i had to have mine on but it was so worth it

"It will definitely hurt, sweetheart, but one thing they recommended to me when I had braces was lots of ice cream because it cuts down the tension on the wires for a bit so it doesn't feel as tight. we'll get you tons of ice cream to keep in the freezer" I said. She nodded as we went to get her braces put on. She let Lando choose the colour and he chose pink. She looked so pretty with her braces on. She went to the mirror and looked at her teeth

"it looks so weird in a way... like i don't look like myself... if you know what I mean" she said

"It's just temporary, sweetheart. You'll get used to it soon enough. Plus, you're still beautiful with or without braces. I promise you that" Lando said. I couldn't help but see me in her... she really was a copy of me...

"you look just like me when I had them... except for the fact that you're not blonde like me because you've definitely got your dad's brunette hair" I said. We decided to let her go shopping as a treat for doing well when having her braces put on. And yes, I was fully aware that she was still grounded but we decided to let her have a break that day. She deserved it. We took her to the shopping centre and I looked at her and held her hands. "just remember that you're still grounded. we're only letting you do this because you did so well having your braces on" I said with a serious face. "you understand that, right? this is just a little day off from you being grounded" I added. She nodded and gave Lando puppy dog eyes for his card. He groaned slightly and took out his card and gave it to her

"Use it wisely, Lils. And remember, I expect a full report on everything you buy" he said

"Okay, dad!!" She said before giving him a little kiss on his cheek and then running off into the shopping centre. Me and Lando went into a cafe and sat down.

"She's a handful, isn't she? But I couldn't be more proud of her" he said

"same. as much as she's a pain in the ass sometimes... I wouldn't have my life in any other way"

"That's true, Lexi. It's the same for me. Everyone deals with their children differently, but you know what they say - blood is thicker than water"

"exactly. also, we might need to go into sports direct in a minute. I need new gym clothes and so do you"

"You think I need new gym clothes? Aren't the ones I have good enough?"

"half of them have rips in them. you need new ones."

"Fine, fine. Let's go then" he said. We went to sports direct and got tons of gym stuff and then went outside for a breather. We went around a corner but immediately retreated as we saw Liliana vaping. What. The. Fuck.

"are you fucking kidding me?? I thought she was finally gonna start behaving" I said

"Oh great. Just what we need. I guess she's still working on that whole "behaving" thing"

"I mean I know I used to vape but that was way before we had Liliana and I stopped as soon as we got together so it's not like she's been open to vaping in the house. how has she even gotten a vape...? She's 13."

"I have no idea, Lexi. But I'm going to have a talk with her when she gets back. There's no way I'm letting her keep doing this"

"or we could just go over to her right now and give her the fright of her life"

"No, let's not scare her. We want to be supportive, right? Besides, she might listen better if we approach it calmly"

"hardly easy to stay calm when our 13 year old daughter is stood there with a vape"

"I know, but we have to try. She's still our kid, and we need to show her that we care about her health and well-being. Let's just wait for her here and see what she has to say for herself"

"fine. but I get to full name her to put a bit of fear in her"

"Alright, you can do the scaring part. I'll handle the supportive and understanding part. Deal?"

"Deal" I said. We messaged Liliana and she found us

"Liliana, sweetheart, we need to talk to you about something important"

"Yeah, dad?"

"Liliana, are you vaping?"

"nah, I swear I haven't. I've never touched a vape in my life" she said. What bullshit

"Liliana Rose Norris, tell us the truth" I said with my arms crossed

"Alright, then let's see what we can find in your room" he said as he grabbed her arm and pulled her to the car

"No!!!" She screamed. We went home and went straight to her room and Lando pointed at one of her drawers

"Is that it?" He said. Liliana shook her head before I reached into her pocket and found a vape. Lando opened the drawer and there were about 10 dead vapes. "Well, it looks like you've been hiding this for a while. You know that vaping is bad for you, right?"

"I don't care!!!" She said while trying to push us out of her room

"Liliana, we're your parents. We care about you and your health. You can't keep doing this" he said

"but I want to!!!"

"Alright, fine. But if you continue with this behaviour, there will be consequences. Understood?"

"I don't care!! I'm already grounded for a month anyways!!!"

"And now you're gonna be grounded for longer. You're grounded until further notice. Until we decide when it's time"

"what??? you can't just do that!!! you have to put a time limit on it!!!"

"I can do whatever I want when it comes to your well-being. And if you continue to defy us, your grounding will extend even longer. Do you understand?"

"fucks sake!!! you always ruin everything!!!" She said. I could see Lando's temper getting worse

"Get your things. You'll be spending the night at your grandparents' house"

"but they live like an hour and a half away!!!"

"I don't care. I'll be waiting in the car. Hurry up" he said before walking out to the car

"Mum, aren't you gonna say anything??" She said to me

"I think you should go. It's probably my fault. I'm a shit mum anyways so I've probably influenced you"

"Mum, no..."

"Just do what your dad says. I really can't be dealing with this, Lils..."
