*Lexi's POV*

The next morning Liliana decided to take over for breakfast. She made some avocado toast for all of us. Lando came down and looked at the toast

"I could have helped..." he said which made us both laugh

"Can't trust dad in the kitchen" Liliana said to me

"nope, can't trust your father anywhere in the kitchen at all" I said as I went over to Lando

"Yeah, well, that's what takeout is for, right?" He said

"yeah, but we can't have takeout every night of our lives" I said as I pulled him to the couch and cuddled up with him

"No, we can't. But every once in a while, it's okay to indulge, right?" He said

"Yeah..." I said before sitting on his lap and connecting our lips. I could hear Liliana pretending to throw up before saying

"I'm gonna leave you two to it before I throw up from watching my parents neck on with each other" she said before going up to her room with her toast

"Lils seems happier" I said once we broke our kiss

"She does, doesn't she? It's nice to see her happy. You know, I always wanted the best for both of you. And seeing you together like this... it warms my heart"

"good. I would hope we warm your heart considering the fact that I'm your wife and she's our daughter"

"That's right. And you both bring so much joy into my life. I'm grateful every day for the gift of you both"

"I love you so much, Lan... my beautiful and handsome husband" I said as he reached his hand up to my cheek and stroked it with his thumb

"And I love you, my beautiful and intelligent wife. You've always been my rock, the one who keeps me grounded and makes me a better person"

"you did that by yourself. you learnt from different things and you did it yourself"

"Maybe a little bit. But you were always there, cheering me on, pushing me to be better. And for that, I'll always be grateful"

"true. now... what do you want for your birthday?"

"You know what I really want? A family holiday. Just the three of us, getting away from it all and creating new memories together. How does that sound?"

"well we were planning on going to Monaco anyway so how about we just go there for the week? you still have your old apartment over there, don't you?"

"Yes! That sounds perfect. We can reconnect as a family, explore Monaco, and maybe even check out some of the casinos... for research purposes, of course"

"definitely research purposes" I said with a laugh

"I'll do my best to contain my excitement until then. In the meantime, let's make a list of all the fun things we want to do in Monaco"

"well let's be honest that Liliana is probably gonna spend the majority of her time with Jackson. I seriously don't know how they aren't like boyfriend and girlfriend yet. and yes, I know you're scared of her near boys but she's known Jackson since she was a baby and we've said before that Jackson would be the only boy we'd be okay with her dating"

"Yeah, he's a good kid. No other boys are going near my girls though" he said. I had to laugh. He was still his overprotective dad self.
