*Lando's POV*

We both went to sleep early that night. Well, I thought we had. I heard Liliana go downstairs at about 10pm. I let her go. She needed the fresh air and she probably went to look at the stars but she still hadn't come back upstairs and it was midnight so I went down to check on her. There she was... still wishing on those stars.

"Still wishing upon those stars?" I said as I sat down next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders

"mhm... still wishing on them that mum will wake up... you need to wish on them too. she may be my mum but she's your wife and you've obviously known her longer than me, dad"

"I know, baby. I've been wishing too. Your mum is a strong woman, Liliana. She'll fight this, I just know it"

"i don't know... she's been through a lot of fights but I just have a horrible feeling that she's not gonna survive this one..."

"We can't give up hope, Liliana. Your mum wouldn't want that. We have to keep believing that she'll pull through"

"but I can't... everything is too much... I can't believe anything right now..."

"I know it's hard, baby. But we have to stay strong for each other and for your mum. She needs us right now more than ever. Tell you what, let's make a deal?"

"What...?"

"every night, when we look at the stars, we'll make a wish for your mum and hope that our love and belief will bring her back to us. Deal?"

"mhm"

"good, then let's make our first wish tonight. Close your eyes and think of all the wonderful things you want for your mum, okay?"

"okay..." she said as she closed her eyes. I closed mine too and we just sat there wishing upon all the stars in the sky.

"I hope our wishes come true soon, baby girl"

"I just don't get how you're holding up so well... she's your wife..."

"I'm not, baby. I'm hurting inside too. Your mum has been through so much with me, and I've never seen her struggle like this before"

"surely you have though...? you've known mum since you were kids... since you were 3... surely she's struggled like this before...?"

"No, not like this. She's always been strong and independent, but this time it feels different. I can see the pain behind her eyes that she doesn't want to show anyone else"

"I haven't even seen pictures of you and mum as kids..."

"We were inseparable. Your mom was the bravest, kindest, and most beautiful girl I knew. She always stood up for me when no one else did"

"yep, that sounds like mum..."

"She's never changed, baby. And I'll never stop believing in her" I said. I wrapped my arm around her and kissed the side of her head. "Come on, let's go inside" I said. Liliana went to bed and I went to bed too. I got in bed and I saw something poking out of the wardrobe. Lexi's favourite shirt... I don't know what came over me but I just held the shirt in my hands and started bawling my eyes out. I was sat there for at least 5 minutes before I heard Liliana at the door

"dad...?" She said. I quickly wiped my eyes and looked at her

"Hey, Lils. Just thinking about your mum and how much she loved this shirt. Come here, sweetheart" I said with my arms open. She climbed into bed with me and we just held each other

"I know we keep saying how "mum would want us to do this" and "mum would want us to do that" but it's too hard to do that... not while she's on life support and in a coma..." she said.

"I know, baby. It's hard for me too. But we have to keep hoping and praying. Your mum is strong; she'll pull through this"

"I think it's gonna be another sleepless night for us, dad..."

"Yeah, probably. But we're in this together, Liliana. Always"
