*Lando's POV*

Lexi's first round of chemo was horrible. We went during the day while Liliana was in school. She didn't have the guts to tell her. She was so exhausted from it... I don't think she realised how tired it actually would make her... She didn't even think that she would be affected that much. It definitely hurt her even more when she ran her hands through her hair and a few strands came out.

"Lan..." She breathed out while holding in her tears. It wasn't a lot of hair but it still hurt both of us seeing it.

"It's just hair, it'll grow back. I promise, sweetheart. It will grow back" I said as I squeezed her hand.

"you promise that you'll get me a wig if I lose all my hair...?"

"Of course I will. I'll let you pick out whichever ones you want"

"we still haven't told Liliana... I just want to drag this out for as long as possible... I don't want her to know until we can't hide it anymore..."

"Agreed. Let's keep her in the dark for now"

"she's gonna be so pissed for how long we're keeping this from her..."

"She'll understand. We're doing this for you, Lexi. She'll understand that. Just hang in there, okay?" I said. She nodded and ran her fingers through her hair again and more hair came out. "Just breathe, Lex. You're doing amazing"

"this sucks..."

"It really does, princess. But it's for the best in the long run"

A week later she had another round of chemo. She had even more hair falling out. She literally had tears falling down her face.

"I don't even think I want to brush my hair..." she said. She definitely didn't want more hair to fall out.

"Maybe we should just shave it all off? It'll be less stressful in the long run"

"I don't wanna shave it yet... I will when I start getting bald patches... but I might be able to go unnoticed for the next couple sessions..."

"Alright, we'll wait for the bald patches then. Just let me know when you want me to help you with it"

"yeah... you should probably take me home and then pick up Liliana... it's nearly the end of school time and this is only a two seater car..."

"Don't worry about it, princess. I'll manage. Now, let's get you home and comfortable. Liliana can ride with me later" I said. I took Lexi home and then went to get Liliana. Back to pretending like everything was okay... she got in the car and she looked stressed

"Dad, I have to choose my GCSE options. It's finally the time and obviously I've still gotta do maths, english, science and welsh but I need to choose my other ones. Can we try and figure it out when we get home...?" she said

"Of course, sweetheart. We can talk about it when we get home. Are there any subjects on the list that interest you?"

"I don't know... I'll look through the list when we get home"

"Just let me know when you want my input. I'm always here to guide and help you, Lils" I said. We got home and Liliana changed out of her school uniform before coming downstairs and cuddled into me. I loved moments like this... moments when I got to cuddle my little girl. Well, my not so little girl now.

"so... first I have to choose if I wanna do geography or history... I don't know which one I'm better at..."

"Well, if you're interested in the world and how it works, I'd say geography might be a better fit. But if you enjoy learning about past events and cultures, history could be great too"

"I don't know... I mean I think I'm better at geography..."

"Then maybe that's the one you should choose, sweetheart. It's important to pick subjects that interest you and where you think you can excel"

"okay... and next I get to choose 2 other lessons. I know 1 which I really wanna do but I don't know if I'm any good at it or not..."

"What subject is that, sweetheart? Maybe we can brainstorm together and find another option if you're not comfortable with that one"

"Well they do like cooking and I do enjoy that type of stuff but I need you to be honest with me, dad... Do you think I actually make decent things...? and don't just say yes because you're my dad... be honest..."

"Liliana, sweetheart, you know I'd never lie to you. And in all honesty? You're not half bad in the kitchen"

"Really...?"

"Yeah, really. So, if cooking is something you enjoy and think you'd like to try out, I say go for it"

"okay... and then I have to choose something else... I can either do something like drama or art or extra PE or music or something like design tech or even computer science... I don't know... I mean music would be quite nice considering the fact that mum can play guitar and you can play the drums..."

"Music sounds like a great idea, Liliana. We can even practice together sometimes. And you know what? I think we should add extra PE as well. You're quite the athlete yourself, sweetheart"

"I might put PE as my backup option. I'm not that good at PE. not as good as I am in music and cooking"

"Don't sell yourself short, Liliana. You're more capable than you realise. And remember, it's always better to challenge yourself and try new things"

"mhm... okay... I'm gonna go fill out the form with my options to take into school in a couple days" she said as she went upstairs to her room. I went upstairs to mine and Lexi's room and cuddled up to her. She needed the cuddles

"Hey there, sweetheart. How are you feeling?"

"tired... this chemo is really draining me..."

"I know it is, my love. But we're almost there. Just a few more treatments and you'll be all better"

"I doubt that..."

"Now why would you say that, Lexi? You've been doing great so far. And I have faith in you. We've got this, okay?"

"but I feel like complete shit..."

"I know, baby... But we'll get through this together, alright? Just take it one day at a time and lean on me whenever you need to"
