Sandra's POV
I woke up determined. Last night didn't go the way I planned, sure, but I wasn't going to let one setback throw me off. If anything, it fueled me. I may have flopped on the first date attempt, but Sandra Domingo doesn't give up that easily—especially not when it comes to winning back the woman I love
I glanced over at Monmon, still curled up in her favorite spot by the window, fast asleep. "You and me, Monmon," I whispered. "We're not quitters."
Monmon let out a sleepy little snore in response. Right. She had it easy. I, on the other hand, was about to take on a mission much more delicate than any boardroom negotiation. Winning Dria back required finesse, charm, and, most importantly, sincerity. Not exactly my strongest suit, but hey—I'm a CEO, I can adapt.
First things first: flowers. But not just any flowers. I had to go with something meaningful. Sunflowers mixed with lavender. It was a perfect combination—sunflowers for warmth, positivity, and memories of when we first met, and lavender for peace. God knows Dria and I could use some peace after everything I put her through.
As I drove to the flower shop, I let my mind wander back to the last time I saw Dria. How had I let it get so complicated? Oh, right—because I was a coward. I had been too afraid to face the truth back then. Instead of standing by her, I'd claimed to be pregnant to keep my name clean in the business world. I still cringed at the memory. The look on Dria's face when I'd denied her... I deserved every bit of her skepticism now.
But that was the past. Today was about moving forward. I was a different person—stronger, braver. Well, that's what I kept telling myself, at least.
I bought the flowers, arranged in the perfect mix of sunflowers and lavender, and made my way to the Alveo building. My hands felt clammy on the steering wheel. Calm down, Sandra. It's just flowers. Just a nice gesture. No big deal.
Except it was a big deal. I was trying to win back a woman I loved, a woman who had every reason to slam the door in my face.
By the time I parked and made my way into the building, I could feel my nerves bubbling up again. I was never nervous. This is ridiculous, I thought, trying to shake it off. But my heart was racing as I stepped into the elevator, the bouquet clutched awkwardly in my hands. I glanced at the reflection in the elevator door and scowled at myself. I looked like a lovesick teenager, not the polished, composed CEO I usually was.
When the elevator dinged and opened on Dria's floor, I took a deep breath. You've got this, I told myself. No big deal. Just give her the flowers. Talk like a normal person.
I headed straight to her office, ignoring the curious looks from her staff as I passed by. One of her assistants glanced up from her desk and gave me a polite smile. "Good morning, Ms. Domingo. Can I help you?"
"I'm here to see Atty. Eduardo," I said, trying to sound casual even though my voice came out a little higher than I intended.
The assistant nodded. "She's in her office. Let me check if she's available."
Just then, the door to Dria's office swung open, and there she was. Dria, looking as sharp as ever in her business attire, her hair pulled back in that way that always made her look so put together. She glanced at me, her eyes widening in surprise when she saw the flowers in my hands.
"Sandra?" Her voice was steady, but I could tell she wasn't expecting to see me here, let alone holding a bouquet like some awkward teenager on prom night.
I straightened my posture, trying to appear confident. "Hey, Dria. I, uh... brought you these." I held out the flowers like they were some peace offering, which, let's be honest, they kind of were.
