"Should we get some coffee?" As soon as Jeongin asked the question, he regretted it because Seungmin elbowed his ribs. Hard.

The thing about Seungmin was that he never held back.

And apparently asking him out for coffee was a mistake. "Too fast," Seungmin hissed into his ear, like Hyunjin wasn't standing right in front of them with a perplexed look on his face. "He just met us."

Hyunjin shuffled, looking up at the three of them in slight confusion, and Jeongin felt the need to reinstate his offer. "I didn't mean to be too blunt- it's just been a while since we've had anyone new in town and we've just been excited to meet you."

Like a switch had been flipped, Hyunjin's apprehensive face contorted into a smile and Jeongin resisted the urge to make a happy noise from the back of his throat that would no doubt sound inhuman. Hyunjun looked down to the two baskets of ingredients (that smelled so appetizing- Jeongin had to resist the urge to nose through the baskets' substances) held along his arms and turned to a frown.

Distantly, the occupants of the town bustled around the little bubble they created at the entrance of the market, and the newcomer gave the three of them a sheepish smile as he nodded down to the baskets on his arms. "Ah, maybe next time?"

"None of that," Jeongin, before Seungmin or Minho could stop him, took a large step forward to grab the bags from him, forcefully passing them to the other two to distribute the groceries evenly between their groups. "We'll help carry your bags."

"But," Seungmin interjected, pointedly stepping forward to shove Jeongin behind him and out of sight so that he wouldn't be able to pull the puppy eyes and force the human into doing something that he didn't want to. "If you're uncomfortable with going, we'd understand."

"Oh, I'm not opposed to going," Hyunjin was quick to correct Seungmin, and Jeongin perked up with interest even if Minho still had a strong grip on the back of his neck. "It's just- I'm not used to this town yet."

"You're surprised that we actually want to meet you because everyone else in this town are secretive assholes," Seungmin said bluntly, and Jeongin could see Minho resisting the urge to grab onto the back of his neck too and drag them both out of there before they could make a scene.

Hyunjin's mouth opened and closed in an endearing way as he looked for the right words to say, and Jeongin tried not to laugh. "Well... yeah. Are you sure you want to get coffee with me?"

This time, it was Minho who spoke. "We wouldn't offer if we didn't want to. Come on, let's go to the student center."

Because their entire pack had agreed that the student center had the best coffee- mostly considering that there was no other coffee place in town aside from the bakery that only made bitter black coffee. The student center liked overcharging them for their cups of sugar, but none of them minded (especially Chan) because it kept them wide awake.

Hyunjin couldn't find himself to argue against Minho, so when he nodded, Jeongin knew they caught him hook, line, and sinker. He saddled in next to Hyunjin's side while Minho and Seungmin took the front to lead them to the college campus that was thankfully deserted due to the weekend.

Money hungry students still worked at the campus during the weekends- and Jeongin himself would offer to work, but their pack was pretty well off and their den was paid for a long time ago.

He spent the walk asking Hyunjin lame questions on purpose just so that he could see the look of confusion that crossed his face and the way he bit his lip when he was deep in thought. If this guy really was with the vampires- he was a very pretty one.

"Hyunjin?" Jeongin asked.

"Yes?"

"If we think that birds can fly, do you think crabs think that fish can fly also?"
