Chan was the only one in their pack who didn't go to college. He graduated early- a year ago- and he didn't miss his college days one bit because they had just been taxing taking care of college, finances, and his pack all at once.
He had majored in music production, just as Jisung and Changbin currently were, and he had released quite a few popular projects with their help. Luckily, by the time they moved to the small town, he grew in popularity enough for them to afford a comfortable life in their territory because it turns out- producers got paid good, even if he was popular under an alias. Jisung and Changbin thought it was the mysterious factor of him never showing his face to the public that made him popular.
Either way, they were comfortable and safe, and the others had worked hard enough in their part time jobs to have an immense amount of savings. (And it helped that Jeongin, their youngest, came from a wealthy home pack that offered him an allowance that made Jisung's eyes bulge when he first saw the numbers in his bank account.)
So Chan was happy and healthy and only a little stressed when Felix burst through the door of his room that held a small built-in studio at the corner, Minho on his heels lugging their two duffel bags that held their dance equipment.
The two of them had the early class, and while the rest of the pack was still on campus, they were always the first back.
"Chan!" Felix called, and it was muffled by his earphones, so Chan pulled them off and placed them onto the desk in front of him, pausing his track so that he could give the two his full attention.
He swiveled around in his chair to face them, gesturing with a hand so that they had permission to enter his room.
Before he could ask Felix why he looked especially happy, he practically bounced on top of Chan, the chair creaking under the pressure of both of their body weight combined as Felix planted a kiss right on his forehead.
"Lix?" Chan asked, chuckling fondly and patting at Felix's lower back when he finally pulled away.
"Felix," Minho warned, thankfully grabbing into the back of his collar to drag him off of Chan before his chair could collapse underneath him.
"Sorry," Felix apologized, because his eagerness always had a way of ultimately becoming his downfall. Chan just stood to give him a reassuring pat on the head to appease him.
"So what's with the rush?" Chan asked, aiming the question to a much calmer Minho who took residency sitting at the foot of his bed. Felix, as always, stayed rooted to Chan's side to prevent him from pacing the room like he normally did.
"The human," Minho stated bluntly, "he's not with the vampires."
"He has a name!" Felix interjected, but not in the angry way like the previous day. "He even introduced himself as Hyunjin so now we know it's his actual name!"
Chan froze, because he had never asked Felix to actually make contact with the human. He much would have preferred it if he had just stuck to watching him from afar. "First of all, you talked to him? And second, how do you know he's not with the vampires?"
Before Chan could get the chance to reprimand them, Minho spoke again, absentmindedly playing with a loose strand on Chan's duvet set. "The vampire he was with- the bratty one who likes to lurk on the edge of the territory, he was trying to claim him before we interrupted him."
Chan sat back down onto his chair when Felix eased him down into it, worried that he would have a premature heart attack at his early age. He rubbed at his forehead, "so you're telling me that a vampire wants to turn him? And it's not even his first week in town as far as we know?"
