Estrella pov

Walking through the empty hall of my manor for a late dinner I stop hearing voices coming through a closed door. Knowing it's my family members I plan to mind my own business however what they're talking about catches my attention.

"I want the two of them dead before the month is over. We've allowed them to walk over our family for far too long," my mother says. I roll my eyes. Have they not killed enough people?

"It will be done my lady," a person whose voice I don't recognize says. Most likely one of our assassins. Shaking my head in disappointment I go to leave when a girl with ripped up clothes runs towards me. She falls to the ground clinging onto my legs making me stumble. She looks up at me absolutely terrified with tears in her eyes. Just as I'm about to ask her what she is so scared of, Lycoris appears grinning sadiscally. Of fucking course he is behind the terror of this poor girl.

"Ah Estrella I see you've met my new plaything," Lycoris says.

"The poison will mirror the symptoms of dragon pox but unlike the disease it will kill them," my grandmother says loud enough for the three of us to hear, Lycoris eyes flash with an emotion I can't read but I can feel the shift like a switch in his head was flipped.

"Eavesdropping?" He asks through gritted teeth.

"I can't really walk away with one of you victims clinging on to me for dear life," I shoot back.

"Please, she is not a victim, just one of my whores," Lycoris says.

"Then clearly you don't know the difference between the two," I say.

"Estrella will you shut up, we're trying to discuss something important," father says, having opened the door standing in the doorway glaring at me.

"My apologise but if rape is in the picture I will talk back," I say.

"She is a muggle, did I mention that?" Lycoris asks walking closer just so he can use his height to establish dominance.

"So?" I ask.

"So?!" Lycoris mocks

"I give myself up everytime I fuck muggle to make sure they'll be punished. Although that thing probably enjoys it," Lycoris snaps. I look in between him and my father in disbelief.

"Not even you can believe that," I tell my father.

"That's enough. Estrella go down to the dinning room for dinner we'll be there momentarily," father says dismissing me.

"You can't be serious. You can't be so heartless. No one on this earth enjoys being raped. The only slut here is you!" I yell.

"Orion, shut up your daughter will you," Arcturus snaps. It takes less than a second for my fathers hand to wrap around my throat, squeezing hard, cutting off my air supply.

"You're lucky that we have more important things to deal with than your disobeying smart mouth. I'm warning you now Estrella, one more word and you'll be locked up for the rest of the week," he snarls in my face and finally lets go of my throat. I fall to the ground next to the muggle girl coughing as I struggle to breath. Lycoris steps towards us as father slams the door closed leaving us with the psychopath of the family. He grabs the girl by her hair making her cry out in pain. He ignores her crises, dragging her away maliciously while I stare at them completely frozen in fear.

2 weeks later

Estrella pov

The room is silent as everyone processes the news of the death of James' parents. I didn't know them for long but in the time I knew them they acted more like my parents than my real parents ever did. They showed me a glimpse of what my life and relationship with my parents could have been, had I only been born into a different family.
