An hour later, the group disembarked from the boat, the cruise coming to its end. Lucifer, now fueled by an energy drink and something to eat, was almost back to his usual self. His steps were more confident, and he was cracking a few jokes as they walked back toward the hotel. Alastor stayed close, his watchful eye never quite leaving Lucifer, even though he seemed to be recovering quickly.
As they strolled back together, Alastor leaned in a little, lowering his voice so only Lucifer could hear. "You know, I was wondering... since we've gotten a little used to it on the boat... would you maybe want to keep sharing a bed when we get back?"
Lucifer raised an eyebrow, a playful grin tugging at his lips. "You just want to keep cuddling, don't you?"
Alastor chuckled, not even attempting to deny it. "Well, I won't lie—I did enjoy the closeness. But I also think it'd be... nice. Comfortable. But if you'd rather sleep in your own space, I understand."
Lucifer seemed to mull it over for a moment before he shrugged. "Actually... I'm okay with that. But I think we should use my room. Don't really feel like sleeping next to the dead deer you've got hanging around from the magic woods."
Alastor smirked. "Fair enough. It *is* a bit of an acquired taste," he teased. "Though I find it quite cozy."
Lucifer shook his head with a laugh. "Yeah, I'll pass. But my room's got a nice big bed, no forest creatures in sight. It'll be perfect."
"Perfect," Alastor echoed softly, a small smile lingering on his face as they made their way back to the hotel, an unspoken comfort settling between them.
The idea of sharing a bed now didn't seem daunting—it felt like a natural step forward. Both of them were more at ease with each other, finding a strange yet undeniable bond that made this arrangement feel just right.
