After dinner, Charlie surprised everyone by announcing, "Okay, everyone! I've organized a little something special for after dinner... a dance!" Her enthusiasm was contagious as she continued, "I've got some upbeat tracks from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and early 2000s ready to go, so get your dancing shoes on!"
The guests and staff filed into the dance area, curious about what Charlie had planned. The music kicked off with some high-energy hits from the '80s, and people started grooving, getting into the rhythm of the nostalgic tunes.
As the upbeat tempo continued, Charlie queued up a particularly iconic track—*Bye Bye Bye* by NSYNC. Everyone's heads turned when the opening beat dropped, and, much to everyone's surprise, Lucifer stepped forward with a gleam in his eye. Without a word, he started to move, effortlessly performing the famous choreography from the music video.
Gasps and cheers filled the room as Lucifer flawlessly executed the dance, his movements smooth and confident. His energy was infectious, and soon the entire room was cheering him on. Alastor stood off to the side, watching with a smirk, though even he couldn't help but be impressed.
Angel laughed, clapping his hands. "Lucifer, I didn't know you had it in you!"
Lucifer finished with a flourish, striking the final pose from the music video, and the room erupted into applause. He stood there, slightly flushed but grinning, clearly enjoying the unexpected attention.
"That was... amazing!" Charlie cheered, her hands clasped in front of her as she beamed with pride.
Lucifer gave a modest shrug, trying to play it cool. "I may have picked up a few things over the centuries."
The dance continued, with a mix of classic hits and nostalgic tracks filling the air. The mood was light, and everyone was enjoying themselves.
Then, as the evening began to wind down, Charlie switched the tempo and put on a slower, more romantic song—a timeless jazz classic: *Can't Take My Eyes Off You* by Frankie Valli. The soft, lilting melody filled the room, and suddenly the atmosphere shifted to something more intimate.
Charlie smiled warmly as she extended her hand to Vaggie. "Care to dance?"
Vaggie blushed lightly but nodded, taking Charlie's hand as they moved to the dance floor together.
Nearby, Angel nudged Husk playfully. "Come on, Husky! Don't leave me hanging."
Husk grumbled, but his resistance melted when he saw Angel's eager grin. "Fine, fine," he muttered, taking Angel's hand reluctantly but with a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
As the couples took to the floor, Lucifer hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He glanced at Alastor, who stood nearby, his eyes meeting Lucifer's with a knowing look.
"Well, dear," Alastor said softly, offering his hand with a charming smile, "would you do me the honor of a dance?"
Lucifer blinked, feeling an unfamiliar flutter in his chest. He smiled, trying to play it off, but couldn't hide the warmth in his expression. "I suppose I could manage that."
They joined the others on the dance floor, moving in sync with the soft jazz melody. The lights dimmed just enough to create a warm, romantic glow. As they swayed to the rhythm, Lucifer felt a strange sense of calm wash over him—one that was becoming more familiar in Alastor's presence.
Alastor's grip was firm yet gentle as they danced. He kept his eyes locked on Lucifer, his gaze soft but intense. For a moment, it felt as though the world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them swaying together.
As the song played on, the soft jazz melody wrapping around them like a warm embrace, Lucifer and Alastor continued to sway, lost in their own little world. The lights had dimmed just enough to create a soft, romantic glow, and the room seemed to fade into the background, leaving only the two of them.
Lucifer felt a flutter in his chest, an unfamiliar warmth that was becoming more recognizable the longer he spent with Alastor. His grip on Alastor's hand tightened slightly, and he felt the weight of the moment settling over them.
Alastor's gaze never wavered from Lucifer's face. His expression was softer than usual, a glint of something more tender hiding behind his usual confident grin. "You're quite graceful, Lucifer," Alastor said in a low voice, just barely audible over the music. "One would think you've done this before."
Lucifer chuckled, though his heartbeat quickened. "I've had some practice."
The lyrics of the song drifted through the air—*You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off of you*—and Lucifer felt the words settle between them, heavy with unspoken meaning. He couldn't take his eyes off Alastor, and judging by the intensity of Alastor's gaze, the feeling was mutual.
As the song neared its end, Alastor's movements shifted. His hand, firm yet gentle, guided Lucifer with a fluid grace. And then, with a sudden, unexpected flourish, Alastor dipped Lucifer backward, causing a small gasp to escape Lucifer's lips.
Before Lucifer could fully process what was happening, Alastor leaned in, and with the softest of touches, his lips pressed against Lucifer's.
For a heartbeat, time seemed to stand still. The kiss was tender but electric, sending a shock of heat straight through Lucifer. His initial surprise melted into something else, something deep and instinctive as he leaned into the kiss, feeling the world narrow down to the warmth of Alastor's mouth on his.
When Alastor finally pulled back, he did so slowly, his eyes still locked on Lucifer's, searching for a reaction. Lucifer's face was flushed, his breath a little quicker, and for once, the ever-composed prince of Hell was at a loss for words.
Alastor smirked, his voice a low murmur as the music faded. "Quite the evening, wouldn't you agree, Lucifer?"
Lucifer, still a bit dazed from the kiss, nodded slowly. His voice was unsteady but full of emotion. "Quite."
The room, which had seemed so far away, came back into focus as the others began to clap, having witnessed the unexpected dip and the kiss. Charlie beamed with joy, clapping enthusiastically, while Vaggie smiled warmly beside her. Angel whistled from across the room, always ready to stir the pot.
"Well, well, well," Angel called out with a wide grin. "That was something, wasn't it?"
Lucifer blinked, his face still flushed as he stood back up straight. Alastor, ever the showman, gave a theatrical bow, his smirk never faltering.
As the applause died down, Lucifer tried to compose himself, though his heart still raced from the kiss. He glanced over at Alastor, who looked more than pleased with himself, and couldn't help but feel the slightest smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
The night wasn't over yet, but things had certainly taken a turn neither of them could have expected.
