The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the city. It was a perfect evening, but Renée sat alone in her dimly lit apartment, staring blankly at the scattered sheet music that littered her coffee table. The notes and lyrics that once flowed from her heart now felt heavy and lifeless, echoing the absence of the one person who had always inspired her, Towa.

Renée brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, her fingers trembling slightly. The world outside thrummed with life; laughter spilled from nearby cafés, and the distant sounds of a bustling city hummed a lively tune. But within her walls, silence reigned.

Y/N, Renée's best friend and confidante, stood by the window, watching the twilight transform the sky. She turned to Renée, her heart aching at the sight of her friend—once so vibrant and full of life—now a mere shadow of herself. "You should really think about performing again," Y/N suggested gently, her voice barely breaking the stillness. "The fans miss you. We all do."

Renée shook her head, a small, sad smile tugging at her lips. "How can I sing without her? Towa was my muse. Every note, every lyric... she was in all of it." Her voice broke, and Y/N felt a sharp pang of sorrow.

"Maybe singing about her would help? You know how powerful your voice is. It could be... cathartic." Y/N's attempt to encourage her was met with silence. Renée's gaze remained fixed on the half-finished song that lay before her, the title hauntingly appropriate.

Towa had always been the spark in Renée's life. They had met during a charity concert, where Towa had volunteered to help backstage. Their chemistry had been instant, and what started as friendship blossomed into a deep, passionate love. They spent countless nights wrapped in each other's arms, sharing dreams and fears, composing music that filled the air with their laughter and warmth.

But now, that warmth had been extinguished too soon. A tragic accident had stolen Towa from Renée, leaving her heart shattered and her world gray. It had been only a month, but it felt like an eternity. Renée couldn't bear the thought of a world without Towa's laughter.

Y/N sat down beside Renée, her presence a comforting weight. "Do you remember that night when you two wrote that song together?"

Renée's eyes misted over as memories flooded her mind. "Yeah,"

Y/N smiled softly. "You both stayed up all night, just writing and laughing. I could hear you from the other room, and it felt like... magic."

"It was magic," Renée said, her voice barely a whisper. "Towa believed in everything I didn't. She made me see the beauty in life, even when I was at my lowest. Now..." Her voice trailed off, and the silence filled the space between them.

Y/N reached for Renée's hand, intertwining their fingers. "It's okay to grieve. But don't forget that Towa would want you to live, to share your voice with the world. She wouldn't want you to stop being you."

Tears spilled down Renée's cheeks as she thought of Towa's infectious laughter, her bright smile, and the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about the future. "But how can I be me without her? She was my everything," Renée cried, the pain clawing at her heart.

Y/N squeezed her hand, steady and unwavering. "You're still you, Renée. Towa's spirit lives on in you. You can honor her memory by doing what you love."

Renée took a deep breath, trying to gather the fragments of her shattered heart. Y/N's words settled within her, a flicker of hope in the midst of despair. "Maybe... maybe I could try," she murmured, her voice trembling.

"Just try," Y/N urged. "You don't have to be perfect. Just sing from your heart."

Renée nodded slowly, uncertainty swirling within her. She picked up her guitar, the instrument feeling foreign in her hands. It was Towa who had encouraged her to play, who had believed in her talent when she doubted herself. Now, it felt like a ghost loomed over her, whispering doubts and fears.
