Ominis froze, his hand still extended towards her. The panicked expression on his face grew even more frightened as she suddenly screamed and fell silent. "Yarra...?" he called out, taking a step towards her to catch her in case she fell. "Yarra, are you alright?"
He reached out again, gently touching her arm as if to shake her shoulder, his blind eyes widened with worry.
He yelled at the house elf to call the doctor and took Yarra's her body into his arms. He carefully carried her to the bed. Ominis gently placed Yarra on the bed, his heart pounding with fear and worry. He sat next to her, holding her hand and stroking her hair, not knowing what else to do. "Please, please be okay," he whispered, his voice breaking. "Please
be okay... I can't lose you."Ominis sat there, waiting for the doctor to arrive, feeling absolutely helpless. Seeing Yarra there unconscious, not knowing if she was okay, was tearing him apart. He held onto her hand, his fingers shaking as he squeezed her hand tight. He had to believe everything would be okay, he had to have hope...
The wait for the doctor seemed to stretch on for an eternity. Finally, there was a knock on the door and Ominis practically flew over to the door, letting the doctor in. "Please," Ominis pleaded, his voice desperate and terrified. "Please, she passed out and now she's not waking up. I don't know what's wrong with her... please, help her. You must do something..."The doctor rushed over to the bed, quickly examining Yarra. Ominis stood off to the side, wringing his hands and watching anxiously. Every second that ticked by felt like an eternity, each second filled with dread.
"What's wrong with her?" he asked, his voice cracking. "Please... tell me... is she going to wake up? Is she going to be alright?"
The doctor continued examining Yarra thoroughly, his expression professional and focused. He checked her pulse, her breathing.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the doctor turned to Ominis and spoke. "She is stable," he said, his voice calm. "But I'm not sure exactly what caused her to pass out. Have there been any recent stressors or triggers that could have led to this?" Ominis ran a hand through his hair, his mind racing. He knew that his confession to her had likely been a trigger. But could that have caused her to pass out?
"I... I did tell her something that may have upset her..." he said quietly, his voice filled with guilt. "Something I've been keeping from her for a while now..."
The doctor nodded, "It's possible that the stress and emotional turmoil could have been too much for her, especially if she's had any past trauma or health conditions." He checked Yarra's vitals one more time before turning to Ominis. "During pregnancy, hormones are more ... active. She must have peace and comfort....I'll leave some calming draught to help her rest. But I'd recommend keeping a close eye on her, and if she doesn't wake up within 12 hours, call me immediately."Ominis listened to the doctor's words, each one hitting him like a blow to the chest. The thought of Yarra, his love, pregnant and stressed to the point of collapse made his stomach churn. He felt sick with guilt and worry. "Thank you, Doctor," he said hoarsely. "I'll watch over her. I'll make sure she's comfortable and safe. And I'll call you if there's any change." The doctor nodded and left the room after placing potions on the nightstand. Ominis sat by Yarra's side for the rest of the day, holding her hand and speaking softly to her. He watched her face, hoping for any sign of awareness. But no matter how much he tried, her eyes didn't open and her body remained motionless. The hours ticked by, and Ominis grew more and more worried. He kept an eye on the clock, counting down the hours until the 12-hour mark. But as the time crept closer, he knew he had to try something. He took her hand in his, his touch gentle and loving. "Yarra... please, love..." he whispered. "Please, wake up for me. You have to wake up."
Yarra's eyes fluttered open slowly, "Ominis...?" she murmured, her voice groggy and weak. "What... what happened? Where am I?"
Ominis's heart leapt as he heard Yarra's voice. He squeezed her hand, relief and joy mixed with worry. "You're in our bedroom," he said softly, his voice filled with worry and concern. "You passed out, love. You've been unconscious for hours."
Ominis saw the flash of pain and anger in Yarra's expression and knew instantly that she had remembered. His heart ached as he watched her struggle with her emotions, her body too weak to properly express them.
He squeezed her hand tighter, his voice soft and filled with regret. "Yarra..." he said gently. "Please, try to stay calm. I know you're upset and I know you're hurting, but you need to rest." Yarra let out a strangled gasp, "Ominis..." she whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I can't... I can't handle this right now. I need... I need time... I need space-"
