Vegas is insanity.

Everything about this city is pure and unfiltered madness, and Felix loves it. The blinding colorful lights, the beautiful architecture, the lack of sanity and tediousness, the swirling air thick with optimistic adventure, and the perfect temperature despite it being the beginning of December. Felix loved this city so much that Hyunjin feared it might be impossible to get him back home.

Three days have passed since the news of Jisung's engagement broke, the very next morning of having been made aware, the boys were already on a private jet to fly to the USA. Hyunjin had been mildly surprised to learn Minho owned a private jet and then he was only thwacked with the realization that these past few years, he hadn't really tried to learn anything about Minho

He had let go of the thread of friendship long ago without notice.

They were still friends of course, but not the type they used to be, the type where Minho was more of a brother to Hyunjin than his right-hand. And the realization did not come without guilt, that sorrow merged with

the inevitable outcome of this marriage

The entire plane ride his eyes kept meeting Minho's while the rest of their friends were busy being idiots in happiness, he could feel the latter wanted to say something and he did too, but they both chose to remain quiet

Hyunjin had given him a squeeze on the shoulder and a soft mutter of "Congratulations" But it was too stiffly awkward and in return, he had only earned a tight-lipped smile

He didn't realize when things became this way between him and Minho, this unaddressed but obviously there tension, but he had a rough recalling that it started a month ago, perhaps back at Seungmin's party it took its first breaths but now it was living and real

And now that they were in these waters of drifting, Hyunjin didn't know how to carry them up through the rift.

When they touched down, they were already drunk enough to crash out, jet lag or not. They, everyone except Hyunjin, had drank so much celebratory champagne on the 12-hour flight that all they needed were some good hours of rest

Gladly, Minho had everything planned and they did not need to go through any customs before finally crashing out in the soft beds of a luxurious hotel. Hyunjin had to practically carry Felix to their room but he didn't mind it, had only laughed when the blue-haired kept slurring the lyrics of different songs together.

When they awoke, the first thing they did was eat a lazy breakfast together in Seungmin and Changbin's room since Jisung had suggested they would need a 'shit ton of energy' (in his words) for the rest of the day and it was already 3 pm. Later on, they went to stroll around the city, waiting for the sun to dip below the horizon before they started yet again with their insanity

Jisung had insisted on watching some fountain show none of them (except Seungmin) were interested in but they all caved since it was the man's week and they were here for his delight. Hyunjin had stood side by side with his beloved, watching him with glittering eyes as they watched the water dance and the sun sink below the clouds, painting everything in beautiful shades of the sunset

Hyunjin had only taken one or two glimpses at the scenery he ought to be watching because instead he was transfixed on Felix, how beautiful he looked when he was amused and the blond couldn't help but smile. Felix had turned just in time to catch his lover looking at him and that only made his smile wider as he leaned into Hyunjin's side and pointed shyly to the fountain, cheeks dusted a rosy tint and Hyunjin felt his heart sink at the cuteness.

By nightfall, the true demons of madness came out when they hit some down-the-street bar and lost their minds in liquor and music. Hyunjin didn't know that Minho was so vicious when it came to partying for himself but it was a sight to watch nevertheless, him on the dance floor with his fiance, laughing at everything and kissing him like it was the last he'd ever do
