"I am the kingpin of the worst mafia organization in Korea"
Hyunjin states those words like a hurricane, like something completely catastrophic was burrowed beneath the velvet of that statement but not an ounce of change takes over Felix, his stance, his face, or his reaction. He is still and quiet like a calm lake, tedious and predictable. Seconds stretch and Hyunjin's heart no longer remains drumming, it has stopped beating, the fear that was eating him alive after having said those words finished consuming him and now all that is left of him is carrion
why wasn't Felix saying anything? Hyunjin's thoughts pound his head like a hammer, continuous hits leading to a smash. He had just declared something similar to a cyclone but ten times worse, something from which there is no going back, something far too impossible to be real, and maybe that Is why Felix seems so oddly calm, because he's having a hard time grasping if this is some sick dream or reality, the latter feels too hard to fathom so maybe he had assumed this is just some dream that'll pass
a thick putrid taste rises in Hyunjin's throat and it feels too much like dread, tastes like hell. His dark eyes await Felix's response patiently but the blue-haired has directed his eyes to his hands which were set in his lap, his fingers don't curl or twist, he doesn't pick on the skin of his cuticles, doesn't make them bleed until there is no skin left to peel but his eyes feel as though they might. He is so frozenly still but there is so much tension in the room that Hyunjin is afraid the heaviness that surrounds them would break the ice sculpture of Felix
He wishes to take the freckled's name but he doesn't, too much wariness and too much apprehension. Everything around them feels like it has been frozen in existence, like the wheels of time have rusted. And then at last, Felix looks up from his lap, still silent as ever, and turns to look out the window, his gaze made of morning mist. Hyunjin doesn't understand anything, doesn't know why Felix still hasn't said anything
the blue-haired stares out of the glass like there is something too interesting that lies beyond, and Hyunjin turns to look as well, assuming there may truly be something as enchanting as a fallen angel or a crying demon to have caught Felix's attention amidst this hurricane but there is nothing, only the breeze rustling the tall trees, the top of a horse stable visible, out of its entrance walking out a man holding the reigns of a shiny black horse
the rain has passed, leaving behind its mark and pleasant scent. Hyunjin looks back at Felix, confused by his actions as he studies his face but finds nothing. All of the shock and confusion from earlier had been flushed from his face, like he was deliberately putting up a wall and It was driving Hyunjin insane. Only now does the blond realize he would have preferred Felix's screams and tantrums of either fear or contradiction rather than this quiet
it feels like every word Felix doesn't say is a cloud rattling above his head, pouring relentless anger upon him, or blazing daggers piercing through his skin. Hyunjin didn't know if he could wait any longer for Felix to say something, he felt like the waters he was drowning in had filled his lungs until they couldn't anymore and now he wants to be able to breathe again. As he opens his mouth to say something, Felix tears through the cloth of impossibly long silence instead
"You've got horses"
is all he says, tone placid as he continues to stare out the window and at the horses. Unexpected as his words may be, Hyunjin felt the littlest of relief rush past him, though he had been expecting something else, he didn't know what he had been expecting but he knew it wasn't this, still he didn't say anything about it. Clearing his throat, Hyunjin licks his lips and turns to look out of the window for a second, taking in the sight Felix is referring to before he looks back at Felix, discerning the side of his face
"Yes"
Hyunjin fights the 'uh' crawling up his throat because he is uncertain of every single word that passes his mouth but he does his best and doesn't let it slip, keeping his eyes intact on Felix. If everything that has been happening since a few days wasn't enough to rival normalcy into fatality then Felix's odd statement was surely the final nail in the coffin. Out of everything he could have said, could have done, he chose silence over speech and chose the bizarre curiosity over horses over the close-to-literal elephant in the room
