Ramona's face twisted with anger
"What did you do Wayne!!!!! He better be okay Or I swear I'll-"
"Shut up" Wayne interjected calmly "You're imitation samurai is fine, I saved his life actually" he said annoyed. With a flick of his finger a shadow tendril picked Saiken up and gently placed him in Ramona's arms. Everyone saw this but, still had their guard up. Gabriel squinted his eyes
"What are you playing at?" He asked, Wayne shrugged
"It's simple, that idiot challenged Jiu. At this rate it's a death sentence, I swooped in knocked him out and even convinced Jiu Greg shouldn't die. He turned his cold stare at Kevin "You're welcome by the way" he said, Kevin's eyes raged with electricity. Wayne saw this but continued "Jiu shouldn't kill any of us, I don't want that; what I want is what I've wanted from the start" Wayne looked at the sun beginning to set "And that's my mother being alive again" he finally said. Kevin's body filled with energy once again as his anger rose
"You're still on this bullshit!" He barked "It won't be her, how many times do I have to tell you this! Leave her soul alone!" He yelled. Wayne shook his head
"You still don't understand the blessing that is right in front of us..." He went silent before a smirk crossed his face "You'll see soon, I'll just have to show you" he said. Sofia looked around
"What does that mean?" She asked, Wayne looked at her and started chuckling
"It means I'm here to stall you all while Jiu resurrects my mother". The group was in awe of Wayne's words, Kevin on the other hand had already entered his awakening again. A low hum could be heard behind them as Kevin stared at Wayne. Then Gabriel, Judah, Sofia, Adrian, and Alex all entered their awakenings as well. Gabriel looked at Wayne
"You're outnumbered bitch boy, we believe in jumping niggas" Wayne's smirk got wider
"I figured, so I have a few friends he said" suddenly Jay's long spindly body appeared beside Wayne, then Michael with sword in hand. Gabriel grimaced
"Michael" he whispered. Jay looked at Ennui and Ramona
"We have some unfinished business" he said licking his razor sharp canines. He looked at the rest of them "Just in case any of you get any ideas I brought some of my little "toys" to keep the rest of you company" he said. With a snap demons with sewn on body parts started stumbling forward. With a swift motion from his hands Jay then smiled
"Lets buy Jiu some time shall we" he said before teleporting everyone away except for Wayne, Kevin, and Sapphire.
Kevin stood still, his heart pounding as he locked eyes with Wayne. The dense, oppressive darkness of the demon's swirled around them, shadows moving unnaturally as if alive. This wasn't the same Wayne he had once called his brother. The light in his eyes was gone, replaced by an eerie, unsettling darkness. The tendrils of shadow energy clung to Wayne's body, shifting and writhing, waiting to strike.
"I can't let you through, Kevin," Wayne said coldly, his voice steady but filled with an underlying sorrow. "She has to come back. I won't let anyone stop me."
Kevin clenched his fists, his muscles tensing as sparks of electricity danced across his skin. He could feel the familiar charge building within him, but his energy reserves were low. His body was exhausted from the previous battles, and every move would have to be calculated. He couldn't afford to waste anything.
"She's gone, Wayne!" Kevin shouted, trying to reach the part of his brother that might still be listening. "This isn't the way. Bringing her back like this... it won't be her!"
Wayne's expression twisted with anger, the shadows flaring around him. "You don't understand! You never did! I'll tear this world apart if it means she comes back."
Behind Kevin stood Sapphire. Her body shimmered, her leopard features shifting subtly as she prepared to strike.
"Kevin," Sapphire whispered, her voice low but determined. "We have to get through him. Jiu is up ahead, and if we don't stop him, there's no telling what will happen."
