Gabriel and Kevin walked back to the main part of the beach with urgency
"What does this mean? Is he close?" Kevin asked, Gabriel shook his head
"I have no fucking clue, maybe the magic girls over here can help" Gabriel's stomach radiated more heat so he quickened his pace. Ennui was doing a handstand in the sand as Ramona was still playing volleyball with Eliza
"Yo, we need your help real quick" Kevin said. Ennui exhaled before flipping over to her feet, Ramona spiked the ball one last time before heading over with a half annoyed look on her face
"What is so important that you needed me mid-game?" Gabriel made a face
"Shutup, you were losing anyway" he said, Ramona looked away with her arms crossed
"You still interrupted" she said under her breath. Kevin pointed to Jiu's hand print on his stomach
"Our weird Jiu hand tats are getting warm.....Can you two sense the energy in it with magic or figure out why?" He asked, Ennui sighed as she got closer to Kevin's stomach
"We aren't supernatural doctors or anything, I have no idea what magic could begin to help us figure it out......" She fell silent a moment "But...I do feel Jiu's spiritual energy radiating in it; if I had to guess he's either trying to find you or it means he's somewhere close" Gabriel sighed
"I was hoping it wouldn't be either of them" Kevin looked around taking one last look at the calm beach
"I think we should go back to Madam Zari's" he said, by now the others were walking up trying to figure out what all of the commotion was about. Judah crossed his arms
"I suspect you have reason for our short lived vacation" Kevin nodded
"Besides us feeling Jiu's energy rising, lets think about Jiu for a moment. What always rubbed me wrong about him was his weird honor code, what villain gives us time to get stronger?"
"A cocky one" Adrian said
"Right" Kevin agreed "But we all have the memories of our spirits, we all know Jiu is cocky but, he's even more underhanded and tricky than he is cocky. I'd bet he told us that just so he could get stronger as well, and when he'd reach a good comfortable level of power he'll attack" Kevin said. The group fell quiet as their thoughts swarmed them. Sapphire grinded her teeth
"So you mean he could be waiting for us right now?" she asked
"I have a feeling he's wrecking havoc right now" Kevin said dismally. Ramona grunted
"If everyone is so caught up in this weird feeling lets check on Madam Zari to ease everyone's minds" She said "I don't think it makes sense for Jiu to attack us early, if you're a villain play by the book" Kevin sighed with an undertone of frustration
"Fine, but at least try to check in" he said. Ramona rolled her eyes and spun her finger in a circle to make a portal. Suddenly Jiu's hand tat on Kevin and Gabriel's stomach surged with energy, In unison Kevin and Gabriel reached out and squeezed Ramona's hand before she opened the portal. Ramona winced at the tightness of their grip and looked at them with annoyance
"Why The Fu...,-" She stopped her sentence short when she noticed the looks of pure fear on their faces. Kevin and Gabriel both mirrored each other. They were gasping with thousand yard stares a piece, veins were visible on there hand as their grip tightened.
"W...W.Wait" they both managed to sputter out. Ramona stopped the spell, the miniature circle that did open closed as soon as it was opened. Kevin and Gabriel fell to their knees as if a weight was lifted from their shoulders. Finally free from their grasp Ramona grabbed her wrist and rubbed it
