Before long the next day was upon them all, like most college students they were all sleepy but; they dragged their asses to school. Kevin and Wayne stood at the entrance with opposite expressions. Kevin was elated to see the school, though Wayne was indifferent to it all
"Nothing like school ya know?" Kevin said giddy with excitement, Wayne sighed
"We have otherworldly creatures to fight and you are here admiring modern-day slavery" Wayne spat, Kevin sighed
"Do you have to drain my energy?" Wayne sighed in return
"Why do I waste my time talking to sheep like you" Wayne began walking away "Later loser," He said. Kevin sighed
"Why did he wake up such a dick today?" Kevin shook his head and resumed his happy attitude "First day after summer vacation, time to have some fun" Kevin walked in and immediately saw new faces and voices. He absorbed the environment and made his way to his Chemistry class, he sat down furthest to the back and took his backpack off. The person sitting next to him who was most likely going to be his partner for the rest of the semester was going through their backpack. Kevin decided he better make friends
"Hey, my name is Kevin; what's yours?" he asked. To his surprise, he heard a familiar voice
"Oh shit, look who the cat dragged in," Gabriel said as he turned around with a joking smirk. Kevin immediately went stone face
"Oh, you're here" He replied dryly, Gabriel copied the dryness
"Yes, yes I am" Kevin sighed
"If we're going to make this work you must answer a few questions" Gabriel nodded
"Of course" Kevin continued
"Ass or titties" keeping the same face Gabriel responded quickly
"Ass"
"What's funnier than 24?"
"25" Kevin almost laughed as did Gabriel
"When's the best time to wear a striped sweater?"
"All the time" Gabriel replied. Kevin was now smiling
"Okay, last question.......Will you spar with me again?" Gabriel smirked
"Nigga, that's all I've been thinking about since last night"
"Right?! Like how the fuck did you propel yourself in the sky with your flames?!"
"Nah nigga, How the hell did you shock the whole lake?"
While Kevin and Gabriel were becoming friends Wayne was scouting around the school.
"I have no time for trivial classes, I need to figure out how these demons operate" Wayne looked around the halls and made sure no one was looking before he opened his mouth to allow a shadow in the shape of a tarantula to climb out of his mouth. Once it crawled out he gave it orders
"Scout the school for any demons, spirits, or odd behavior in general then report back to me" The shadow tarantula nodded then began scurrying across the floor. Wayne turned around and began walking away when a voice got his attention
"Hey, I think you left this?" Wayne stopped walking and turned his head. He saw Connor holding his shadow tarantula by one of its spindly legs
"Who are you?" Wayne asked, Connor, smirked
"I can be your friend, I can also be your enemy; though I think we aren't too different" Connor crushed the tarantula and walked up to Wayne "You also hate those who oppose you right? The anger that fills your body when there is discord and free will?" Wayne looked Connor in his eyes
