Wayne went out looking for answers, he had to be productive somehow. Being fearful wasn't his style and the fact that the demon could read his mind didn't sit well with him. Wayne made his way downtown, he was sure some demon of some kind had to be lurking around. For extra protection, he sent some of his shadow spiders out to see what they could find. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait long before he felt a presence. Crouching low he crept beside a car to the sound of water dripping, he peeked around the corner and gagged at the sight. It was a bouquet but it was made of human body parts. An ear seemed to be the middle flower as the fingers wrapped around it snuggly. It seemed as if the base of the bouquet was made out of forearms pulled in half and pushed through each other. The dripping noise was the blood still fresh leaking from the grotesque masterpiece.
"You like your gift?" A low hiss of a voice said behind him. Still in awe and fear of the sight in front of him Wayne slowly turned around and tried to keep a bit of his stoicism."PP...Punctual...I...I can admire that" Wayne said. The demon was standing on the roof of a coffee shop just above Wayne's height, the shadow of him was tall and lanky; very unnatural to the eye. The figure jumped down from the building and walked into the nearby light. The demon had a long toothy grin, his eyes were red and his hair was cut in a fade with his white hair. He was also tall, about seven foot with a long sleeve white shirt that had black stripes.
"Punctual? You act like this meet up was planned, which is unfortunate I smelled you and went through the trouble of making you a fresh piece" the demon sauntered forward and looked at the flesh bouquet with pride in his eyes. Wayne kept a straight face
"I planned on meeting .......a demon one way.....or another" he managed to sputter out. His heart was erratic as sweat began to bead on his forehead. The demon nodded and began circling Wayne
"You are an odd one aren't you? I can't sense your spiritual energy and I don't sense any spirit within you" the demon smiled fiendishly. "You seem closer to a demon than a spirit" the demon pried, Wayne sighed"I'll never be like you.....despicable creatures," Wayne said coldly, The demon laughed
"You may be more like us than you think my friend" Wayne frowned and ordered one of his shadow spiders to attack the demon. The spider jumped from the darkness and landed on the demon's head, the shadow from the spider wrapped around its head and progressively got tighter. In two seconds the demon was decapitated, Wayne saw the blood spread over the concrete and smirked
"I knew you demons weren't all that special" Wayne said a bit too excited. After he took two deep breathes he began walking away when a voice froze his movements entirely
"I wouldn't say I'm special, maybe just a bit different" Wayne looked around frantically trying to see where the voice was coming from. "I must say my friend, that was an interesting way to kill someone" Wayne raised his shadows in defense
"Where are you?" Wayne asked apprehensively, the demon chuckled
"Why I'm right in front of you" the blood that was on the concrete began to move erratically before turning into the demon from earlier. Wayne took a step back in fear
"How......What are you?" the demon smiled
"The name is Jay, and I am a demon of course" Wayne grimaced
"How are you not dead?" Jay chuckled"Ohhh, that; I should've known that's what you meant. I made an illusion that fooled you, and then I shapeshifted into the pool of blood alongside my illusion" Wayne was truly scared now. He couldn't even move to try to attack this guy anymore, he had no idea what other powers he could possess. Jay looked at Wayne concerned "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost" Wayne gulped
