Ana's POV

In just a few seconds, I hear Xavier yelling my name as he tries to protect himself from an attack.

"Ana, watch out!!!"

I don't have time to figure out what's going on, but I see him running towards me. Suddenly, he scoops me up from my crouched position and roughly pushes me away into the wall behind me.

I heard a gunshot, louder than the others, and his gasp just inches from my ear as I was pushed against the wall

I heard a gunshot, louder than the others, and his gasp just inches from my ear as I was pushed against the wall. I found him standing right in front of me, struggling to keep himself upright by resting his hands against the wall. His body leaned a little forward, and his head drooped downwards.

I suddenly realized I was about to be fatally shot, he must have pushed me away to protect me, but when he looked up at me, I could see deep pain written all over his face.

His mouth was tense, and he was clearly hurting

His mouth was tense, and he was clearly hurting. I reached out my hands, wanting to give him a comforting hug but I felt a lot of moistness as I touched his left side.

The fabric of his clothing was soaking wet and when I looked at my hands, the horrific view of blood pouring through my fingers was causing my heart to drop.
As I watch, his white shirt rapidly becomes stained with a red liquid spreading all over as he struggles to steady his uneven breaths.

"Xavier... You were..." I can't gain my composure to talk as tears stream down my face. I fully realized what was happening when he lifted me off the ground. He moved my head away from the target, but as he stood up to push me forward, he ended up getting shot in his side by that bullet that was meant to kill me in an instant.

He leaned heavily against the rough, cool wall, his body trembling slightly as he struggled to regain his composure. The shadows cast on his face highlighted the weariness in his eyes, revealing a deep sense of vulnerability that made him appear fragile and exposed. Each breath seemed to come with effort, as if the weight of pain pressed down on him, leaving him defenseless.
