Xavier's POV

Experiencing the emotional support and care from Ana is both beautiful and overwhelming. I never imagined that anyone could fill the deep void my parents left behind, but somehow, she touches the very core of my pain. Her words and affection have a unique ability to soothe that deep-seated hurt, mending wounds I thought would never heal.

As her lips brush against mine, I can't help but pull back slightly, captivated by the intensity in her gaze. Gently, I tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear and say, "You're incredibly beautiful, Ana."

She seems momentarily stunned by my compliment, her eyes widening before a soft chuckle escapes her lips. "I hardly ever hear you say that. Thank you."

I take a breath, my heart racing slightly at my own honesty. "I don't tend to give compliments often, but when I do, they come straight from the heart." A slight warmth spreads across my cheeks, knowing I've just revealed another part of myself to her.

"You know, you're absolutely adorable when you get all flustered like that, especially when you're being honest with me. It takes me right back to when we first met—I couldn't help but stare at you then, just like I am now," she says with a playful chuckle.

I bashfully avert my gaze from her penetrating eyes, my fingers dancing over the car's ignition as I prepare to start the engine. "Are you ready for some action?" I ask softly.

"Not even a little love before we dive in?!" she suddenly speaks, her voice tinged with disappointment.

I let out a light chuckle, trying to lighten the mood. "Let's save the good stuff for after we get through this nightmare." I say, starting the car and pulling onto the bustling main road.

Moments later, I guide the vehicle down a secluded street, near the casino area. Ana delicately holds up an earring, its sleek design betraying none of the secrets concealed within. Hidden inside is a miniature recording device, expertly crafted to elude even the keenest eye.

"I have a feeling this little gadget will do its trick," she says, her fingers brushing over the earring. "All I need to do is get them talking, and they'll spill all their shady dealings."

I can't help but grin. "With your skills, I'm sure they won't stand a chance. You've always had a talent for getting people to open up."

We step out and I move toward her, pulling Ana into a tight embrace—my way of reassuring her that she will be alright.

"I'll be in the shadows, watching your back. If I can manage it, I'll try to slip inside too. Just promise me you'll be careful," I whisper, locking my gaze on hers.

"I will do my job!" she declares, determination sparkling in her eyes. "If I can collect some vital intel on this tiny recorder or uncover any incriminating evidence, I'll sneak it to you whenever I can."
