Max opened the door to see someone he never thought he would see again.
A person who I believed was by my side for everything,
A person who I believed was dead.
My best-friend, or at least he was my best-friend.I didn't want to see him, I didn't want to speak to him, I didn't want to hear his voice.
But at the same time that's all I've wanted for so long now.Knowing that it will put my mind at rest finally, knowing why he left, knowing the full story.
That's all I wanted to know, within 3 seconds of him seeing me he managed to make his way past max and push past to get to me and hug me really tight.I just stood there, I didn't hug him back but I was struggling to get out of his grip. Eventually he let go and I just stared at him full of emotion not knowing what to do.
"What the fuck do you want Hayden." max said, it's like he read my mind. He says the things that won't come out of my mouth.
"I just wanted you guys to know that we are safe and that we are sorry for everything that happened." he replies with
"Yeah, but that's the thing, we don't know what happened. You just disappeared with no trace" I said gritting my teeth wanting to punch him so hard."I don't really know what happened myself, I went to the shop to get some snacks for when you got back and when I came back all our bags were packed and my mother was rushing us around telling us we need to go" he says
"Well now we know, and you have said sorry. But we don't forgive you. Bye bye" I say blankly to his face, how could I ever forgive him. Even if he says it wasn't his fault, he could have contacted me and told me."Please Y/N, please forgive me. I didn't do anything" He replies back to me, his voice angering me even more with every word that comes out of his mouth, every second he is infront of me.
"That's the thing, you didn't do anything. You could have contacted me to tell me you were okay and you had an emergency or just told me what was going on but I don't care about you anymore. Your not my best-friend. Your not my friend. Your not my enemy. Your not anything to me now" I say with tears starting to form, begging to drip out of my eyes.I don't know if I meant those words or if they were just words I was saying. But I knew one thing for sure. I definitely did not like Hayden anymore, and I never will again.
"Your going to regret saying that. I am definitely something to you and you know it. It may not be now that you regret saying it, but one day it will haunt your dreams. I can promise you that." He says back, no emotion, walking away from me and out the door.
It was quite scary, like he just put a curse on me.
Max shut the door in his face as he was turned around one last time to face the door.
Instantly, he walked towards me and hugged me."I know it's hard, I'm here for you. Don't listen to his words, you said what you said and sounded like you meant it" he says stoking my hair gently as I bury my head into his chest.
After I broke the hug I walked upstairs to my bedroom, sat on my bed and stared at the wall blankly, nothing in my thoughts. Nothing at all.
