Are the rumours true?

I still haven't told Lando that Hayden came to my door and pretty much out a curse on me, I didn't want to worry about it, yet I did.
What did he mean by it would haunt my dreams?

I didn't want to focus on that right now, all I wanted to focus on was my relationship with Lando and his career, not Hayden.
Yet his words kept coming back to me, worrying me. Is this what he meant when he said it would haunt me?
I just can't stop thinking about him and how he just showed up unannounced after so long expecting everything to go back to how it was.

But no, Lando was my priority, I needed to forget about ig all and focus on him.
So far he has won one race and he hasn't told me yet but there has been a rumor about a few people on the F2 grid getting promoted to F1.
I've heard his name a couple time but he hasn't told me anything so I had to act like I knew nothing of it until he told me or it came out in the news.
I think If he found out he was getting promoted to his dream he would tell me, or atleast I'd hope he would.

Deciding to just leave it until I found out the truth and not rumours, he would definitely tell me.

Snapping back into reality after I hear cheering around me, surrounding me even.
I had no clue what happened but eventually knew when I saw on one of the screens that the race had finished and Lando came third. He was on the podium.
He's been doing so well in the championship so far, I'm so proud of him, I'm so proud to call him mine.

I run out with the team to meet him at his car.
He immediately runs to me and picks me up over the barrier between us and kisses me while spinning and then putting me down to go celebrate with the rest of the team.
He seemed so happy, behind me I hear some people speaking, I think they are engineers for another team and hear them talking about how he's definitely getting promoted.
Out of all the sounds around me, why have my ears concentrated on that conversation?

After the podium, celebrations and interviews im walking with Lando back to his dads car, his dad was chilling in the car with the air-con while Lando did some interviews because he was too hot out here.

"Are you okay love? It feels like you have something on your mind. You don't have to tell me but I would like it if you did so I know your okay" Lando says as he stops in his tracks, turns me to face him and hold my waist while looking down at me.
"Are the rumours true? Are you going into F1 next season?" I just blurt out, getting straight to the point.
"McLaren have been in contact with me, they think they might choose me to drive for them next year." He replied looking ashamed of himself.
"That's good news baby, why do you look sad?"
I reply with, he has a shine to his eye, like he's going to cry but is refusing to.
"I'm sorry for not telling you, I haven't even told my dad yet, they told me I can't tell anyone until they announce it. Please love, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. I sort of hoped you didn't hear anything until I told you" he says with a singular tear falling from his eye.

"If you couldn't tell me that's okay, it's not like I'm mad or annoyed or anything. I'm really happy for you and don't worry I won't tell anyone. Absolutely nobody I promise." I say wiping the tear off his cheek
"I'm so lucky to have a girl like you." He replies smiling and bringing me into a kiss and hugging me after.

We get into his dads car acting like nothing happened, like neither of us knew anything.
He drives us back to the hotel and we go to sleep ready for the plane in the morning.
I can't wait until the news comes out so I can finally show my happiness for him, until then I shall remain quiet about it so that nobody knows that's I know anything.
I'm dating the most talented, cutest, sweetest boy in the world. I would do anything I could to stop him from getting hurt, told off, or being sad.
I would do anything to make sure he is happy, absolutely anything.
