it is the very day of colin and penelope's wedding. the driftwater clan find themselves seated directly beside the bridgertons, which is of no suprise. edith knows, considering she is sat right next to eloise and alison is sat between benedict and her mother, that the seating arrangements were carefully planned by the bride and groom.

and, that selected group understood their task; today wasn't a cause for argument, and lady danbury and dianna were sat beside these four to ensure as such.

the choir beautifully sang a few hymns as all the guests get seated, and anthony and kate take the opportunity to speak to the group behind them.

"i do love a good wedding." samuel speaks up from that same row as the meddlesome group of four, as he has been made to sit at the very end of the row next to his fiance.

"you've never been to one." edith chuckles, pulling a confused face.

"this may be my first, but this season i will definitely see more than one wedding." samuel tells her, sweetly.

"we both will." she offers, hooking her arm around his.

benedict catches this bit of conversation and smiles. "i do so look forward for your wedding, edith. strangely, i cannot begin to picture it." he chuckles.

"we have an idea." the younger driftwater tells him. "but, lips are sealed for now."

alison, for once in her life it seems, stays perfectly silent and still. because of, you guessed it, the fact that benedict is practically squished beside her. the pair haven't been seated together at events for months and her recent discovery of intense feelings for the latter have been amplified by a dozen. to put it simply, her entire body and mind are in a tizzy.

"alison, are you alright?" anthony asks, breaking out of his conversation with gregory and kate upon noticing her not-so-subtle breathing excercises.

"hm?" the countess' head perks up, and benedict is also quick to snapping his gaze over to her in concern.

though they had agreed to be civil until they truly took a moment to sort their situation out, benedict and alison still hadn't spoken. that being said, it was only last night that he frantically threw pebbles at her window.

the gesture confused alison, as throwing rocks at someone's window was moreso associated with romance and confession. but instead, benedict had come to ask her advice on something that most likely had everything to do with tilley arnold.

nevertheless, she still offered him a brief smile as she noticed his concern in that moment.

"he said, are you okay?" kate chimes in, her demeanor mirroring her husband's.
