10. First Spar

They entered a large, empty room.

"Inhyuk." Jiyoung signaled to him.

He nodded, stepping forward, "I will be the referee for this spar. Jiwoo, you're on the right. Jisuk, left."

They nodded, heading to their positions.

"On my mark, start."

Jiwoo clenched his jaw, getting serious. He readied his first move.

Jisuk, as always, was cocky. Didn't even prepare to start. Instead, he mocked his opponent, "you think you can beat me?"

Jiwoo ignored him, he had better things to worry about.

Jisuk became agitated, "you're ignoring me again. Let's see how long you can keep that glare!" Wind surrounded his hands and feet.

Jiwoo didn't seem surprised, he figured he had wind powers from their last.. accident...

"I'm not going easy on you like I did last time!" Jisuk kept spitting, but not biting.

'That kid's loud.' Cale thought, thankful he was far away.

"Ah." Jiyoung gathered their attention, "your name is Cale, right?"

Cale turned to look at her, "yes...?"

"I heard from Inhyuk that you have a transformation-type ability that gives you cat features."

Cale stared at her, 'at least that better than being a cat that turned into a human.' "Yes."

Jiyoung nodded, "you don't have to hide it. Everyone in this building is awakened as well."

Cale nodded, taking off his hood. His cat ears twitched a bit, having been stuffed all the time.

Inhyuk noticed, resisting the urge, he remained professional.

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Haaaa!"

Jisuk immediately striked Jiwoo in the stomach, throwing his across the room against the wall.

Inhyuk stood silently, he knew this would've happened already. Jiyoung also knew, as his older sister.

Jiwoo laid on the floor, injured.

Jisuk smirked pridefully, walking off, "how unfortunate, you two made time just to see this pathetic struggle. Especially you, sis."

Jiyoung didn't reply, didn't even look at him, she was unimpressed.

"Ugh..."

"What?" Jisuk looked back.

Jiwoo groaned as he stood up stumbling.

'Good!' Kayden smirked, 'he might've gotten hit but he lessened the damage where he was hit.'

Jiwoo prepared again, taking on a fighting stance.

'He's more persistent than he looks.' Cale thought, smiling a bit.

'I was careless, I didn't expect him to attack at the third beep.' Jiwoo was more determined than before.

Jisuk still wasn't being serious with him.

'I'll attack first this time!' Jiwoo thought as he dashed towards Jisuk.

"Oh?" Inhyuk let out.

Jiwoo was instantly in front of Jisuk, catching him off guard. Jiwoo threw a punch at his torso, but Jisuk dodged instinctively. He threw another punch, and he dodged again. Again and again.

'This brat!' Jisuk thought, becoming infuriated and this time, threw the punch instead.

Jiwoo ducked, then blew more punches afterwards.

Jisuk blocked his head with his arms, receiving each attack. He gritted his teeth, face turning red from angry. "How dare you!"

Jisuk let out a burst of energy, throwing Jiwoo off him.

The sudden outburst left Jiwoo off guard, letting Jisuk attack. Jiwoo let out a weak sound, dashing backwards to avoid his attack.

"You think I can't catch up to your speed?!" Jisuk ran towards Jiwoo, "all you have is your speed anyways!"

Jisuk kept attacking, and Jiwoo kept running away. Despite that, Jisuk always caught up with him.

'That kid will adjust to your speed, but he won't be able to imitate your fastest speeds.'

Jiwoo remembered Kayden's words.

Swoosh!

'That bastard!' Jisuk caught on.

Inhyuk's eyes widened, 'Jiwoo's speed.. increased!'

Kayden smirked devilishly, 'that kid's strong for his age but he's no match for Jiwoo when I've trained him to his best!'

The two kept attacking one another.

Pow! Pow! Pow!

'He's good at fighting, like someone...' Cale watched calmly.

"Jiwoo's amazing." Inhyuk spoke enthusiastically, then dulled down, "it's a shame he's up against Jisuk."

Cale closed his eyes, 'that's right. You can't just win against someone who's trained their whole life with a few day's experience.'

"..." Jisuk glared at Jiwoo. "I've had enough of you, you annoying piece of shit!" Jisuk raised his arm, then swung it at Jiwoo.

Jiwoo dodged, but it wasn't enough, he sustained an injury by his waist. Jiwoo flinched, "eek!"

Kaboom!

"Why do you keep running away?!" Jisuk's power changed, it was much stronger.

The floor was starting to break.

At last, Jisuk landed a direct attack, sending Jiwoo to the ground, clutching onto his stomach.

Jisuk gathered wind into a concentrated area.

"He's overdoing it!" Inhyuk yelled out, "Jisuk! Stop!" He tried telling him.

Jisuk didn't listen, he aimed at Jiwoo, and released the power.

"Ah!" Jiwoo screamed in pain.

Blades of wind attacked him, with no time to run or dodge.
