32. He.. lost...?

(A/N: This is gonna be ass since I don't have a reference for the fight... 🫡)

The two stepped forward.

Jihye watched, worried, "do you think he'll be able to win..?"

Jiwoo gulped, "I don't know. I heard Gangseok is one of the four strongest rookies in Korea.." Jiwoo furrowed his brows.

"I guess there's no way then..." Jihye clenched her fists.

Beep

'I heard he's part of the top four rookies here. I didn't expect him to participate, he seems more like the calm and collected kind.' Cale thought, observing him.

Beep

'This is going to suck.. he's a close combatant...' Cale dreaded this fight ever since he heard the lineup.

Beep!

Dash!

Gangseok leaped forward at Cale.

'What the?!' Cale's eyes widened. He unconsciously slashed wind at him as he jumped backwards.

'He's not going easy on them?!'

Everyone in the crowd was also surprised.

Gangseok followed Cale, trying to land a hit.

'He's fast!' Cale kept running away.

'Do you think you can keep running?' Gangseok thought, though nothing showed in his blank expression.

'His style is similar to Giwook's, but the situation is different..' Cale gritted his teeth. Gangseok's attacks were scrapping him little by little.

'His wounds are healing..?' Gangseok noticed.

'He's lost in his thoughts.' Cale noticed.

Bang!

Cale threw an attack at Gangseok, a strong condensed wind slash. He sent multiple ones.

"..." Gangseok raised his arms, protecting his head. He was being pushed back slowly by the continuous attacks, but he tanked them all. None of them worked effectively.

The wind made everything in the way clear.

'He's a tough one.' Cale thought, seeing as no simple wind could get past him. 'Should I try doing something similar to Jisuk's power?' Cale suddenly got an idea.

Jisuk's wind was similar to the way Cale compressed his wind to make it into a more powerful attack. However, the way it was circulated, released, and refined were different and more impactful.

'Or should I keep him cornered in a whirlwind? But he doesn't seem to be affected by this sort of wind.' Cale groaned. 'Whatever, let's try this.'

Gangseok flinched. He was suddenly surrounded from all sides except up and down. He flinched again, when he suddenly felt his arm exposed with blood. 'It got stronger.'

Gangseok was trapped inside a whirlwind. However, he could've easily escaped it if had been a similar power from before, but, it wasn't. Cale had put in both his ideas into the attack; he changed the wind, mimicking Jisuk's wind, and created an inescapable situation.

"That wind.." Jisuk's eyes widened.

"I didn't expect to see another powerful unaffiliated one."

"What's wrong, Jisuk?" Subin asked him, confused.

"Do you think Gangseok will be able to escape?"

Jisuk furrowed his brows, staring at Cale. "He's trying to replicate my wind..." He caught on.
