"A.. unaffiliated awakener defeated Gangseok of the top four rookies in Korea...?"
"How is this possible?! How can those two be unaffiliated?! Something must be wrong!"
"This is insane.."
"Gangseok lost so badly..."
'I understand their reactions.' Inhyuk sighed. 'After all, a newly found awakener beat Gangseok who not only trained his whole life but is also one of the strongest rookies here.' "Take them to the infirmary." Inhyuk shouted.
Four people came out, the academy's staff members, and took the two away. Two carried Gangseok on the stretcher while the other two assisted Cale.
"From what I saw, Gangseok tried everything he could."
"Yeah, yet he still lost."
"Does that mean that person's more powerful than the Four...?"
"I didn't expect such strong people among the unaffiliated."
The professors also started discussing among themselves.
"Yeah. I wonder how they went under the radar for so long."
"Sigh. Let's continue."
"Next up, Seo Jiwoo, unaffiliated, and Kang Sucheon of Baekdu!"
The two went up.
Sucheon was furious, for whatever reason. "Get ready to die, bitch." He grinded his teeth against each other.
"..." Jiwoo didn't respond.
The match begun.
"Wait." Cale suddenly stopped the people escorting him. "I'm fine. Help Gangseok instead."
The escorts panicked, "the principal ordered us to take you to get treatment."
"I said I'm fine. I can also heal myself faster." Cale reassured them. 'Why do they care so much about me anyways? I'm not even under Baekho unlike Gangseok.'
They looked at each other. Then one of them nodded, "alright.."
Cale thanked them, then walked past them, heading back towards the venue. On this way there he thought to himself, 'why did I cough out blood..?' He stared at his palm stained with dull blood. 'I didn't overuse my ancient powers, or is it because I changed the way I used it?' He furrowed his brows.
"Cale?" Kartein and Kayden looked back at him.
"What're you doing here?" Kayden asked.
"I came back to watch Jiwoo's spar." Cale sat down beside them.
The three were on the highest place in the spacious room, by side of the students who were watching the spars and the professors, unnoticed.
"What about your injuries?"
"I can just heal them slowly." Cale's attention was on the two down below.
Kartein smirked. 'Take that, oh-so-great Kayden.'
Kayden stared at Kartein. 'Why won't he use my force control instead of Kartein's?'
'Good thing the spar hasn't progressed that far yet.' Cale thought as he watched.
Sucheon was still pissed off. He never seemed to lose his heat. "Let's see if you can escape this!"
The field of his range expanded around him.
"You won't be able to hit me now." Sucheon grinned. He started walking confidently towards Jiwoo.
'He's right.. His power is spread out, but if I try entering it, I'll be slowed down and my force won't be as strong as before.' Jiwoo hesitated.
