"Um.. Cale..?" Jiwoo tried approaching him into a talk.
"What is it?" Cale asked. He was slacking on the couch, snuggled up with his cat children.
"We have to return to the academy in a few days..."
Cale raised his eyebrow, waiting for him to finish.
"Do you think they'll allow us to take four more cats...? They allowed me to take two cats, but don't you think four is a little excessive...?" Jiwoo sweated.
Cale sighed, it was nothing worth worrying about. "Inhyuk is a cat obsessed guy, I'm sure he'll allow them in. And if they don't, I can say it's related to my awakened power. I heard there are abilities that allow one to control animals."
Jiwoo's eyes widened. He awkwardly smiled, "that is true!" He scratched the back of his neck.
"Dad! Dad!"
The kids called out.
Cale turned to them.
"What is the academy?" Hong asked.
"Is it like the royal academy in Roan?" Said Ohn.
Cale nodded, "similar." Cale went on and explained how the current world worked.
"Ooohh." The kids expressed.
"That sounds fun!" Hong and Ohn jumped excitedly.
"Can we join!?" Hong asked.
"No." Cale replied coldly. "You're too young."
"And aren't you too old to apply to an academy?" Hong countered.
Ohn and Hong crossed their arms, stubbornly.
"..."
Jiwoo looked away, feeling a bit guilty.
"I wanna join too, human!" Raon joined in.
"No is no." Cale didn't budge.
"He's right." Eruhaben sided with Cale. "We're in an unknown world. It's better to stay hidden and observe."
"Grampsss!~"
Eruhaben looked away, ignoring their gazes.
"Um. How old are you, mr. Cale?" Jiwoo asked.
"...40.." Cale seemed reluctant to speak.
(A/N: I don't know how old he actually is. The wiki says 20, but it's a quote from quite near the beginning of the story.)
Jiwoo became shocked, "huh?? I didn't expect you to be so old..." He didn't mean it in a mean way.
"40 is quite young for an awakener." Kayden spoke up. "Since awakened ones can live up to 200 years."
"Then.. how old are you, mr. Kayden?"
"..." Kayden averted his gaze, sweating nervously.
Kartein sighed. "I don't know, but people say he's in his 40s or 80s."
Jiwoo's eyes widened. That was a large gap. He never knew his mentor could be so old yet also maintain his youth.
"..."
"Daaaaddd!!" The kitties called out. "Pleaseeee!" They pleaded.
Cale sighed. "I have to bring you to the principal and ask for permission then." He listened to their desires.
"Yay!"
The kids jumped up in joy.
"How are you going to do that?" Jiwoo asked.
