28. The Silver Shield

"Everyone except Cale, Jiwoo, and Wooin, come with me. The rest of you, start running." Giwook announced as soon as he walked in.

The three followed him, confused. They entered another room, similar to the one before.

"Mr. Inhyuk, and mr. Seongha? What're you two doing here?" Jiwoo noticed the two standing near the middle of the room.

"Jiwoo!" Inhyuk waved at him with a smile. "Did Giwook not tell you guys?"

"No."

"Is it because of the spar between the affiliated and unaffiliated?" Jiwoo asked.

Inhyuk and Seongha nodded.

Jiwoo's expression became gloomy.

"There's no need to worry." Seongha said, trying to comfort him. "The spar is to show the abilities of each other. If the unaffiliated awakeners do well there, then they'll receive better treatment in the academy."

Jiwoo's face lit up as he heard that, now he was pumped up to get working.

The unaffiliated kids were always complaining about how their treatment was so much different than the others.

"Wooin, you're first."

Giwook and Wooin stepped into the middle.

The others watched by the side.

"Attack me with everything you got."

Wooin immediately attacked after his words, a powerful hit targeted to his opponent's head.

Giwook blocked his attack with his bare body. 'He attacked as soon as I finished, if I hadn't known.. I would've embarrassed myself in front of those two.'

Seongha smirked a bit, knowing what he was thinking.

"Don't get carried away." Inhyuk told him, knowing he was getting ahead of himself. "You haven't seen what my kids can do." He grinned.

Seongha sighed, ignoring him.

Giwook readied his body for impact, raising his guard, "I know that's not everything you've got, hit me with something stronger."

Wooin nodded. He gathered his power and sent another attack, similar to the one before yet more stronger.

Giwook took the hit. He didn't get injured. He grinned, then brushed the dust off his arms.

'He withstood his attack?' Jiwoo was amazed.

'He withstood the attack?' Wooin got hyped up, knowing the opponent could stand against him. "Should I make it stronger?"

"No. That's enough." Giwook stopped Wooin.

Wooin nodded, walking away sadly.

"You did great, Wooin." Jiwoo cheered.

"Thank you."

"Jiwoo, you're next." Giwook called out for him.

"Yes!" Jiwoo clenched his fist as he strongly walked forward. He raised his fist, ready to attack.

"Don't go easy on me like your friend did." Giwook also raised his fist, but it wasn't to attack, he used them to block his head.

"Yes, sir!"

Jiwoo immediately rushed at Giwook and punched him, but Giwook blocked easily.

"I know that isn't your fastest speed. Feel free to use everything you've got." Giwook reminded him.

Inhyuk smirked, chuckling a bit, "he'll be surprised by his speed like we were."

Seongha was a bit surprised, what did he mean? Who was surprised?
