Hey, everybody! My name is Ariel Axilas, and welcome back to yet another chapter of my second novel, "Lightspeed: Drug Detectives"! Last time.....oh my God, guys.....did our attack on the Celestial Compound go off without a hitch or what? Two of the three heads cut off, and the last one successfully brought into custody! A convicting "the reason you suck" speech from me, Angelo Acosta going completely off the rails, an intense sword fight, and an intense escape sequence.....we practically had it all! And, on top of that, Marle Atkins over there—of Mastermind Conspiracy infamy—managed to recover the body of Isabela Acosta from the compound mere moments before everything went down! I feel sorry for the poor girl.....all she wanted to do was seek a better life for herself.

Anyway, the chapter more or less ended with very few Celestial Syndicate grunts remaining—all of which are already handcuffed—and the last remaining head, Angelo, also subdued alongside them. Angelo and the grunts are set to be taken to the Crime Lab—and I'm also going to inform them about the Celestial Syndicate's fall—under the supervision of both Marle and my best friend, Erica Shields; Herman will also go with them to ensure that nothing happens with Angelo on the way. Our end goal was to meet up again in a few hours at the which apparently has quite the enthralling view of the water as its guests dine! I can't think of a better way to celebrate!

And.....yeah. What'd I tell you guys? I said I was going to bring down the cartel by the weekend's.....end, and you know what? I did it. I took those cartel cronies to SCHOOL, baby! And just in time for me to go back to my own tomorrow! Just another weekend in the life of Lightspeed, I guess.

This time, we bask in our victory at the Blu Pool Bar! Come on and join us.....the water's just fine!

-Blu Pool Bar, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-

Okay, guys. So let me just tell you right now, in case you've never been to this place before.....

.....this place is amazing. The glowing glass partitions separating the guests from the roof's edge, the general light blue aesthetic about the place, the pools and lounge chairs for people to chill around here.....it gives off such "casual hangout" vibes, you know?

It's decently late into the night now, so they've turned on the lights, which only adds further to the immersive atmosphere. They have a wide range of dishes on their menu, but at the moment, I, Lightspeed, as well as my badass posse Erica Shields, Marle Atkins, and the Paragon Herman, are now just seated around one of the woven round tables in separate chairs. Marle's big black purse is hanging at the back of her seat, Herman's M1 Carbine is casually leaning against his side of the table, and the "driver" kit that Erica often uses to hijack my car and turn it into a weapon of mass destruction is sitting on the table, on her end.

We've already finished dinner by this point. Well.....mostly. The only thing we have left to consume are these sweet, sweet cocktails. And I can think of no better view to see while finishing them.....than a stunning rooftop view of Santo Domingo.

"I can't believe we managed to get in here so quickly....." Erica remarks before taking another sip from her glass. "You don't think they kicked out another group prematurely to make room for us like the El Gallego restaurant staff did, did they?"

I shrug, giving my best friend a grin. "That's what happens when you're tight with a well-known superheroine, girl friend," I state, before electing to indulge in a little bit of comedic sarcasm. "In return for this, I fully expect every single one of you to drop to your knees and say your thanks to me at least once per day."
