FUCK, I'm feeling good now! Hey, everyone! My name's Ariel Axilas, and welcome back to another chapter of my second novel, "Lightspeed: Drug Detectives"! Last time, I finally, FINALLY managed to get ahold of that beloved author that I keep trying to tell everyone else about! Sure, he's a bit standoffish at first, but he was kind nonetheless. He promised that, despite all of the suffering I've been through, it was all for a reason—which, I'll admit, was kind of comforting—and he also healed my right leg at long last.....but it took me effectively threatening to kill myself prematurely by throwing myself off a balcony to get his attention.

Something about the way he healed me.....it felt so fulfilling. I feel like he didn't just heal my right leg.....but that he also healed the rest of my body and filled me with energy and vigor beyond measure. Now, I feel empowered as hell and ready to take on the rest of this adventure! YEAH!

After the author healed me, I returned to both my best friend Erica Shields and the Paragon Herman, who are now back in our vehicles in the parking lot of Celeste's Clairvoyance Shop, lounging around and waiting for my return. Erica's apparently still listening to the Phantom of the Opera playlist, while Herman's actually being remotely useful by trying to look up the "solionite" that I learned the existence of back at the drug junkies' apartment complex during my second visit to the area. Apparently, whatever the author did to empower me, Erica and Herman notice it as well.....because upon my return, they're practically gawking at me (as they should, of course). I trade more verbal barbs and playful insults with Herman upon my return, but things get back on track after he tells me he's found more leads on the "solionite".....whatever the fuck that is. The chapter ended with all three of us pulling out of the fortune teller shop's parking lot for good—not bothering to track down Celeste, who has apparently escaped according to Erica—and even though I realize that Marle Atkins is still missing, I resolve to try and contact her the next time we come to a stop.

Now, though.....it's time to drive to the next stop on our investigation of the Celestial Syndicate. Ready.....set.....GO!

-Enroute to the Solionite Mines, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-

"Listen closely. The Solionite Mines are a hidden network of tunnels below the landmass on which the capital of Santo Domingo is built on," the Paragon Herman explains to me, Lightspeed, as I and my best friend Erica Shields cruise down one of the Dominican Republic capital's many streets. "They've been in operation for quite some time, and their activities have been financed by the local government because they believe that the solionite mined within is being used for docile purposes such as the research of potential new vitamins. Of course, that's all a bunch of lies. If they knew what it was really being used for.....I don't know if they would keep bolstering it."

"So the government thinks that this 'solionite' is being used to benefit the population......when it's actually being used to hinder it?" Erica verified. "By bolstering the illegally produced cannabis to increase its risk of agitating its consumers? Interesting."

"Wonder who's been feeding that misinformation to the government," I ponder out loud. "Wonder who's been making them think that way to keep the stream of investments coming in. Maybe it's some high-profile figure amongst the mining team?"

"That would be a reasonable answer," Herman says as he sends the location of the Solionite Mines to Erica's phone, who in turn proceeds to punch it into my vehicle's GPS system. "I looked up the date they began operating, and used today's date as the endpoint. All of the dates on the cannabis bag screenshots you sent me? They all fall within that range. It would be a safe guess to assume that every last bag in those pictures was already enhanced.....I shudder to think of the repercussions should it actually have been distributed to the public."
