What's up, everyone? It's your girl Ariel Axilas once again, and welcome back to another chapter of my second novel, "Lightspeed: Drug Detectives"! Last time, I teamed up with my best friend Erica Shields, my on-and-off boss Marle Atkins, and Herman—yes, the Paragon Herman—to take care of one loose end Marle had before we all set off for the Dominican Republic capital of Santo Domingo to begin taking down the Celestial Syndicate and its heads. But what was this "loose end", you may ask? Some cop by the name of Pietro Pedesco; Marle claimed that he and three other cops beat an innocent man to death after mistaking him for a car thief suspect.
Don't know, don't care. I just wanted to get it over with because this "Pedesco" shit was getting in the way of my actual goal. But you should've seen how we took him out! Marle had Erica, myself, and Herman step on three of four pressure switches that gradually heated up this weird chair that Pedesco was sitting in.....and it looked like it must've been really painful for him. And then, get this; just when we think Marle's about to step on hers, she instead moves right in front of Pedesco, relieves him from duty, and drops a fucking ten-kilogram weight on her own pressure switch, heating up the chair to its maximum capacity and roasting—and I mean ROASTING—Pedesco to a crisp. .....Meanwhile, Erica just sang random tunes to herself while standing on her switch 'cause Marle slapped both a blindfold and a pair of noise-canceling headphones on her before we entered, to prevent Erica from feeling any guilt. No worries, though; Herman helped her move about just fine!
But there's no time to dwell on that! I'm sure Pedesco got what he deserved, but he's not our main threat! The sooner we get everything packed, the sooner I can get us all to the Dominican Republic, and the sooner we get to the Dominican Republic, the sooner we can destroy the Celestial Syndicate! Let's go, let's go, LET'S GO!

-Cambridge Hospital Parking Lot, Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge, Massachusetts-
We've just gotten done with Officer Pietro Pedesco's execution, and now I, Ariel Axilas, am chilling around my car with my best friend Erica Shields, my on-and-off boss Marle Atkins, and the Paragon Herman nearby. We've put together this kick-ass team to infiltrate and destroy the Celestial Syndicate within the Dominican Republic's capital—Santo Domingo—and nothing's going to stand in our way!
Although.....I suppose that you can call me Lightspeed, since I've already changed into my superhero costume at this point; I can switch from my superhero form to my normal human form practically on a dime thanks to my super speed. I know, it's so convenient.
Got my black bodysuit, yellow pulsating Tron lines, black gloves with yellow padding.....it's the whole lot! Yellow domino mask, sleek cape, black boots with yellow stripes on the outer sides, and yellow waist belt.....really, what's not to love? Oh! And there's also my logo. Check it; black circle, yellow outlining, three triangles pointing to the right in an end-to-end formation. Kind of like a fast-forward symbol with an extra third triangle, you know?
And, as always, I've got my glorious box braids and spellbinding silver eyes on display! Yep.....I'm Lightspeed, and it's time to take down a cartel!
Erica says that she doesn't really require all that much besides her wallet, and I agreed to cover her for a lot of her other needs, too. Also, since my last solo adventure, we've kept a spare tool kit in the back of my car to help Erica to easily get into random vehicles and start helming them like the shitty driver she really is. I know it's going to come in handy at least once during this adventure.....it just has to. By now, Marle's taken off Erica's blindfold and noise-canceling headphones.....and in spite of how many questions Erica asks Marle about Pedesco's execution, Marle's choosing to remain tight-lipped. Smart girl.
