Never felt like this before - Leah Williamson

Christmas and New Year's Eve pt. 2

Olivia's POV

Christmas had passed and it was wholesome, to celebrate such a special holiday with your closest ones is one of the best feelings to ever experience, to sum up a little bit of Unboxing day I'll say just familiar and cosy to describe that day. Obviously we're no longer kids, so we didn't wake up at 6 in the morning but we did get up somewhat around 9:30 am, then we all had breakfast and had a little bit of a chit chat and after that we exchange our gifts for each other. I have to say I was nervous about my present for Leah, don't know why because I knew she would love it, but you know, it's never 100% that what you think will happen. Though she did like it and got a little bit emotional, but I won't tell that to anyone or she will kill me. If you didn't know, my gift was an album about our journey through our friendship and then our relationship. And I left some blank pages so that she could add whatever she wanted. I must say it was a fantastic idea from my part, don't really wanna sound arrogant but I must say it was a very good idea. And Leah, got me an experience for us both, a little getaway wherever I want, it was lovely and I can't wait to have some days off and go on that little trip, just us.

And finally, after unboxing the presents, we just watched some movies and went on a walk during the day, it was such a warm and cosy environment, if I could, I would stay in that day forever. But moving on, now it was time for New Year's Eve which is in two days time. We're all going to a restaurant which is located in a village near our house. I don't really believe in the typical new year's resolutions and what you want to achieve bla bla, simply because it will always depend on you and how much effort you put on achieving these goals. However, that doesn't mean I don't like celebrating it, it's just not that special as everyone seems to think.

New Year's Eve

Today, 2021 will be over and a new year will begin. Also, it was the last night in this house, and I have to say I'm gonna miss this place, even though I'm very much a city person, these days with just our families and no one else, were the best. It brought us all closer. We were all one big family and it made me feel my heart full.

The plan for today is just to spend time all together in a restaurant where we'll be celebrating New Year. However, me and Leah have opted to go, only us, for a walk this afternoon to the nearest village, which is 10 minutes away, by car, from where we're staying.

Being said that we're both now getting ready to go, it's freezing outside so we are putting as many layers as possible. If you couldn't tell we're both persons that are cold at the slightest drop in temperature. So you can imagine what we're wearing, better be hot than be freeze to death. Always positive.

"Le, you ready?" I ask her from the bathroom

"Yeah, let's go"

As we say goodbye to our parents, they don't waste any opportunity to tease us. Kids. Ironic right? Saying 'have fun' with a smirk on their faces or 'don't do anything we would't do'.

"They are such children sometimes" I scoff laughing and shaking my head.

"They are, they love teasing us" Leah agrees and we laugh at them.

We make our way to the car and start driving, with some music in the background while chatting about anything in particular.

"Can we go inside" Leah asks me while pointing to a home decor store

"Uh, sure" I answer. I see a smile creep on Leah's face. "What's got you so excited about this store Le?" I ask her, laughing at her excitement.

"Nothing, I just love home decor, especially during Christmas. Because I just imagine my dream house or apartment and how would I decorate it to make it feel warm and cosy"
